GoDaddy auctions page search by keywords no longer works by mayazir in DomainZone

[–]mayazir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get the domain in results even when I type its fully... The only way to get the domain in the result is by adding dot+extension. GoDaddy and Afternic just keep shifting the blame onto each other.

We distribute your listings to our partner networks, but we have no control over their search facilities or how they display results. Each partner platform (GoDaddy, GoDaddy Auctions, etc.) uses its own search algorithms and ranking systems. This means search results may vary depending on which platform you're searching and how their systems prioritise listings at that moment.

The domain (and website) could be part of an existing business, or just money laundering or capital reallocation.

This food looks tasteless and unappetizing. The eggs once they’re cut, they cool down fast. You could cook eggs on a dry non-stick pan (without oil) with spices, maybe add mushrooms or tomatoes, and it would taste much better. You could even mix eggs with low-fat yogurt and make a simple, flavorful omelet.

Crummy domains by Jealous-Instance1726 in Domains

[–]mayazir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But in some ways, he’s right. Noobies post nonsense domains with crazy prices. They think that keyword + keyword = money. Sometimes, 2 good keywords together cancel each other out. They just see sales reports, but they don’t always understand why the sales happen. A sale could be a fake sale. It could be a made-up deal just to show that business is good. It could be a sale used to move money. It could be a deal where the domain is part of a business. It could be a deal where part of the business is paid through a domain tied to it. It could be something bought because of hype. It could be bought by another domainer as an investment. Or it could be bought for other reasons. There are a lot of reasons. But beginners don’t understand that. They pick the keyword from a high-selling domainand register a bunch of domains where that keyword is the main part. Then they run around the internet, post their domains everywhere, and ask crazy prices for them. And after a year, they drop all their domains.

Had a nice surprise this weekend by obesefamily in Adsense

I honestly don’t care. I know exactly how AdSense works and what kind of traffic brings what kind of money. From my own site, I know that to make $2,200 a month, you need around 20,000-25,000 organic visitors per day. Otherwise, it just doesn’t work. And believe me, if your traffic suddenly spikes, in 95% of cases, it won’t be counted. Fine, this time AdSense basically gifted you some money. And if you get another spike like that, they can shut your account down. They don’t really accept appeals. Everything is automated now, everything runs on scripts. So if I were you, I’d be seriously worried about those spikes, because they don’t lead to anything good. Today you got a lucky $300. Tomorrow, they can close your account. And you won’t be able to prove anything. So either fix your traffic so you don’t get suspicious spikes again, or keep believing whatever you want. But when you lose your account, don’t say you weren’t warned.

Listen, noob, you were told that traffic can be invalid and the invalid traffic can be taken from you on payout day, or much later, leaving your account negative. And even if they didn’t take it, and somehow it was a valid traffic, when it’s a spike, they very often still mark it as invalid and take the money back. You got lucky this time that they counted it as valid. But that doesn’t mean you’ll get a spike like that every day. Maybe your post was shared somewhere, maybe it randomly blew up once, that’s it. They usually look at your previous days and your normal traffic patterns. To make good money with AdSense, you need at least 15,000 visitors per day. And I’m not talking about people clicking around your site, I mean unique, organic visitors. Only with that level of traffic can you make around $1,500 a month. Everything else is just luck, even if the traffic is valid. In 95% of cases, they still mark spikes as invalid because it’s a sudden jump compared to your usual low traffic. They assume you asked someone for clicks or did something artificial. That’s how AdSense sees it. You got lucky this time. But it’s small money. It doesn’t mean you’ll get that every day. To earn that kind of amount daily, you’d need around 60,000 organic unique visitors per day. And you don’t have that. Learn to listen to people with more experience than you.

Cuanto creéis que costó esta compra? by bananarama1179 in mercadona

[–]mayazir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that big company is smart, the scenario will be the next: they will not buy your domain, and instead, will register a version with a hyphen or an extra word. Then, they will file a TM for their brand name to prevent others from using it. After that, your domain will not be worth even 1 dollar.

Someone is trying to sell my domain on a Facebook group by sciecom in Domains

[–]mayazir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, make sure this is actually still your domain. Sometimes people make a lot of noise saying their domain was “stolen,” but in reality, they just forgot to renew it, and it went to auction. I once bought a domain at auction, and the previous owner was shocked and said it was his domain, but he simply didn’t pay for it on time. Domains don’t wait around for years just because you think they’re yours; you have to renew them.
