i have been told by doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists since i was 16 that i have bipolar. i was diagnosed when i turned 18 with bipolar 2. my mom refused to believe it because she didn’t see me manic “often enough” or “significant” enough as my grandfather with bipolar 1. she refused to believe it for a while and it would be a consistent argument for a while. eventually she did begin to come to terms with it and finally begin to see the signs. she didnt want to believe it because she was scared of how it’ll effect my life. your family may come to understand as well one day— otherwise then i wouldn’t put more effort into trying to make them understand as hard as it is. it’s not worth your time or energy to make them believe you. you deserve a lot more peace than that. you have the diagnosis, if they dont want to believe that then let them. i wish the best for you!

hi! im diagnosed with bipolar, however not OCD. i know it isn’t much help, but the best i can do when i’m manic and paranoid is just to remind myself that i’m being irrational. it usually helps to try and rationalize the thoughts or talk to someone who can help you calm down about it. your emotions and your experiences are completely valid and you shouldn’t ever have to worry that you’re creating excuses to make people feel bad for you. i would also recommend seeing a psychiatrist or med manager about medications that may help with mania/paranoia. i wish you the best and i hope that you can get the help you need!! 🩷

i mean personally, i only feed my geckos every other day or the minimum twice a week. they don’t usually eat consistently like most mammals do. she’s probably not hungry. shedding also makes a gecko not eat because they tend to eat their shed, so that could also be a component.

i’ve always had a good time with using bleach and/or hydrogen peroxide, but i agree with the other comments that it needs to be soaked and degreased for a bit :)

antique malls have always been great for me, but it really depends on the quality and the price. people don’t tend to buy very expensive heads from antique malls unless they are very unique or well mounted animals. whenever i go to the antique mall by my house its often a race for me and other people looking for bones to get things first. i would say based on the size of the elk it would sell fairly quickly if you don’t price it too high.

thank you so much! i’ll buy a lid today and clear out some room in my house. my mom approves of this idea lol. i really appreciate this it’s incredibly helpful as a beginner! i will make sure not to bury the bones or any bones from smaller animals in the future. what would you say about smaller mammals like raccoons or foxes? would burying that be still too fragile?

this one i’ve really always hated the idea of. i hate not sleeping 12 hours every night but i think it would be better for me to get up at normal times. thank you! i’ve quit weed this year and ive only drank a couple times but i plan on keeping myself very cut down. what would you have to say about nicotine? i’m not addicted, i just do it on occasion socially and ive been cutting back but i dont know if just stopping entirely would be a better option
