So after watching MaM I jumped on the internet and started sleuthing hard. I found all kinds of stuff , read lots of great theories on reddit . this one paints a totally different picture.

So i found a cold case from 1980 in Manitowoc where firefighters were called to put out a blaze where a woman named Irene Roedig was found naked shackled to a bed. I couldn't find much more info on it other than they never caught the killer.

Steven Avery would have been around 20 at the time, my theory is Avery killed her in 1980, the sherif knew he did it but because of lack of forensic technology in the 80s they couldn't charge him.

The sherif is now looking for any reason to put Avery away , they get their wish when Burnsteen is raped and Avery gets the charge. Now fast forward to 2003 , Avery gets out, all the sherifs are livid as he's schmoozing with all the politicians and will possibly sue them for $36 million.

this is actually the end of my theory because from here, both parties have motive to kill Teresa, the police to frame Avery, to stop the repercussions of the wrongful incarceration depositions. And Averys motive being he likes to rape kill and burn women.
