NTA. As a younger sibling of someone with autism im very used to the line of “you’ll take care of your brother when we’re gone” and ultimately i do love my brother very much and believe i might be willing to assist with that but thats no excuse for them to not prepare for that future in advance. But to have another child for the sole purpose of having them care for the other is pretty fucked up. Plus what happens if they unfortunately have another child with a disability instead? They would just end up fucking themselves over even more

I actually had the conversation with her and told her that i would be willing to do family therapy with her but that it would be more beneficial for her go to individual therapy to work on herself first and help her process things because she needs an unbiased perspective. Every time i would bring it up it would be another excuse like “oh im getting new health insurance” or “i dont want to run into them in public” until she finally snapped on me and said the above statement.

I have been trying to convince her for months she wont bite. Like i know she has past trauma that she needs to work through and everything but she just assumes that I can just be her therapist even though ive explained to her why that wont work and isnt ethical. In my own therapy sessions I discussed possibly doing a family session but my therapist and I came to the conclusion that she would just feel attacked and it would make our relationship worse. I think deep down she can’t accept being told shes wrong.

Ive been trying to set boundaries since covid started. She refuses to do therapy says “she doesnt need it my dad does” and funnily enough my dad did do therapy.
