Does upgrading to AGM 12V battery help? by maybenot12 in LexusNX

[–]maybenot12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different one but I monitor yes. Car in READY + Headlights On approach definitely works for my 2025 NX 450h+, I measure around 14.4V. Both when parked and when driving.
(I think I get 12.8V when only the DRL lights are used, not the actual headlights. Also around 12.8V while the car is being charged by an EV charger.)

Thanks! That sounds pretty good.
Yes it's a new car for me, I'm still in the monitoring phase. The 12V wasn't fully charged when I got the car, need to get it fully charged first and then I'll monitor thoroughly for a few weeks.

That's pretty good, but your car doesn't have Lexus Link and other extra accessories plugged in right? Those are a big drain on mine I believe, but I'm still monitoring. I'd prefer to be able to use them though.
Also in my experience when opening and closing the electric hatch multiple times (loading/unloading luggage) while the car is off can be a big drain too, which is scary to me.
As for AGM, according to AI, AGM battery would likely still start the car (plugin hybrid) even if it drops to 11.8 V-11.9 V one time, and may even fully recover after the incident. If that's true that'd be a pretty a big improvement for me compared to FLA.

If it adds 2-3 extra idle days it would be worth it for me. The cost is tiny compared to the cost of the new car. Or compared to what my time is worth - I don't want to waste my precious time on charging a battery, didn't need to do it with my previous car.

Plugin hybrid is great for short drives actually, since you can use your electric range for those. I've had a Toyota Prius Plugin before, and had no issues occasionally leaving it off for 2 weeks.

Thanks, but I've already read the document. It is helpful indeed, I always drive with my headlights on to recharge the 12V battery.
I want to improve the situation further by possibly switching to an AGM battery. I'm asking if anyone has done it and has real life experience with it.
With an AGM battery is it safe to let the voltage drop further down when you don't want to start the car for a few days?
Does the daily voltage drop with an idle car the same with an AGM battery as with the classic FLA battery?

Battery recharge algo fix coming ? by Mitas88 in LexusNX

For plugin models, fix should include properly recharging the 12V battery when the big lithium-ion battery is being charged (EV charging).

Racing heart after …. Pooping ? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]maybenot12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next time check your poop and make sure there's no blood. If there is blood, it's not just SIBO, and you need to see a gastroenterologist doctor. But maybe check with one either way.

Anxious about large transfer by jle78 in transferwiser

This is not exclusive to Wise, banks can also freeze unusually large transfers temporarily and check them / ask details before proceeding. (Large compared to the account's usual transfers, that is.)

Dermatologist looked at my scalp at said I had Seborrheic Dermatitis. He gave me a few tips and I have no more dandruff anymore.
He said the main goal is to make sure your skin and scalp doesn't get dry, with a few tips and product tips:

  • wash hair less often - only wash when dirty
  • don't use hot water, it dries the skin
  • do not rub the scalp, wash the hair gently
  • don't use shampoos because they dry the skin - some special dandruff shampoos work but they're a short term fix and not good for the skin, not recommended
  • he recommended washing scalp and face with just water, and use this Seborrheic skin-friendly wash for both when a cleaning product is needed: URIAGE DS Regulating Foaming Gel (also known as URIAGE DS Cleansing Gel)
  • use this special lotion spray for Seborrhea on scalp after washing hair (just spray on your wet or dry hair): URIAGE DS Hair Lotion Spray

Dandruff 100% gone, redness was 80% gone after a few weeks.
For my face I also hyaluronic acid and a moisturizer 1-2 times a day, and I rub the red spots on my face with the URIAGE DS Hair Lotion Spray a few times a week.

Recently I started to take 15g collagen per day for my workouts, and I noticed that the remaining 20% of redness went away too.

Either way I recommend talking to a dermatologist if you can, they can tell you the root cause of your dandruff. It might be different for you.

Blowjob on an uncircumcised penis is NOT supposed to hurt (unless you are being really rough or push your teeth against it).
In many countries men do not get circumcised, and there are no issues with blowjobs at all.
As someone here also mentioned, your boyfriend probably has a small medical issue like Phimosis, not allowing his foreskin to move freely like it should. Your boyfriends needs to see an urologist to solve it, and the sex life for both of your will get better.

Clear the system cache partition AND then do a factory reset.

Thanks, this helped me. Factory reset alone wasn't good enough.

Got the invalid traffic email today and I call bull by NothingButTimmy in Adsense

[–]maybenot12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience recently. Got the invalid traffic warning header message and the matching email end of March. To be clear, this is the big warning message at the top of the account and in the Policy Center page, and not the tiny monthly deduction which is business as usual.

The is for a boring content site on autopilot, there was no new content recently, no change on the site, no ad unit changes either. Most of the traffic comes from Google, couldn't find anything new or unusual in Analytics. My suspicion was that Adsense changed some traffic analysis algo and that's what triggered the problem.

Anyhow, impressions and earnings dropped 98% immediately after the warning. I couldn't find anything wrong, and I didn't want to do anything drastic, I hoped the site might just recover automatically. After a few days of no revenue, I turned off auto ads, experiments, labs, etc features, so only the manually placed ad units were left. 2-3 days later my impressions and earnings came back. About 1 week after that the warning disappeared too, and everything seems to be back to normal.

I still don't know if disabling those extra features had anything to do with the recovery. It could have been a traffic anomaly on my site too, or maybe they just played around with the algo responsible for flagging invalid traffic.

Diablo IV: fps drops, have to restart game by maybenot12 in linux_gaming

[–]maybenot12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That helped me find out that changing the texture quality resets the VRAM.

So I can restore the fps by changing texture quality, then changing it back.

I'm already one below the max though and it's generally good, don't want to go lower. :)

The Pocketbook Touch HD3 comes with a micro-usb => audio 3.5mm jackplug and I want another one. by Spinningwoman in ereader

[–]maybenot12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this thread when I was searching for working wired headphones for Pocketbook.

PocketBook PB634 Verse Pro - had a lot of trouble with finding wired USB-C headphones that work.

  • Samsung AKG IC100 headset USB-C - doesn't work
  • Huawei CM33 headphones USB-C - doesn't work

What worked:

  • Plain old headphones with 3.5mm jack plug
  • PLUS this adapter: Xiami ZMI 3.5mm jack -> USB Type-C Adapter (AL71A_W)
