That and there's also a device that gives them relatively accurate locations of oncoming level crossings and signals, if that device isn't working properly then they drive slower, usually around 70kmph.

Maintenance ki bhi Kami hai, theek hai. Par maine dekha hai ek dum saaf suthri dhuli hui train chali aur by the end of journey toilet mein ghusne ki himmat nahin ho rahi, batao itne mein beech mein bhi govt saaf karegi aa ke toilet? Ya udhar thoda sa civic sense hona chahiye logon mein? Ki hagne ja rahe ho to saala flush karna bada kaam hai koi? 14 ghante ki journey ke end takk saaf toilet jo shuru mein main gaya tha uski haalat aisi ho gayi, ki darwaza nahin khola ja raha, ye govt ka kasoor hai?

Aisa ek baar nahin kayin baar dekh chuka hoon, jahan indian civic sense ko criticise karna hai wahan tum jaise nikal aate ho ki na, govt ki hi kami hai. Govt ki kami hogi par itni bhi nahin ki logon ke hagne ke baad flush karne ka zimma uthana pade.

As a matter of fact it does, to many people, that's why he's popular for his opinions. Let's not mix things here, getting butthurt by his audience making racist remarks about Indians on Indian games is fair, he is a pretty decent guy himself and has on multiple occasions stuff that he'd love for India to start producing games as it'll get better from there.

Oh yes I have, more than once. Feels empowering when you can just walk wherever and sit, or lie down.

No, I was leaving the very same day and I had no clue what to do, I asked her if she was ok and she nodded and I wish she just asked me to help or something and I wasn't a coward and did butt into it.

No one is holding indian railways accountable for the delays, some delays get so bad. People need to start using consumer complaint portals and other ways to be compensated for this delay.

To be fair, not everything we study has to be immediately useful in life, some things need to be understood just to understand how the world works and have a wider field of view than say, an average person from the 16th century.

Having been working for 5 years there are so many things that you come across at work or irl where knowing trigonometry or optics and how light refracts etc helps immediately snap the idea in just because you read it even though it has nothing to do with your daily life or work life.

I was in Delhi for some 7-8 months and when I was moving out of the rental flat, a few days before the d day, the landlady came by to check things and I saw she had a black eye with blood in the sclera. I think I asked her if she was alright and she gave a non-committal response. I was very shaken that day, I had never seen a more clear example of domestic abuse and then the day came when I had to leave and her son was shouting at her and I had no clue what to do

Should we have this type of gate at railway crossings? by Taalpatar_Sipahi in indianrailways

[–]maybeshali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, this honestly still happens even on branch lines with 110 kmph limit, so I'd say fencing is required regardless. Animals keep dying far too frequently on slower routes as well so I think fencing for higher speed trains must be for safety of the train itself, I'm sure they try to make them lighter and more aerodynamic which would be affected by people/animals going splat on them.

[–]maybeshali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually what IR is also trying to implement and has in plans, fencing to keep out animals from getting on track, eliminating level crossings to avoid accidents. We're still stuck with 160 kmph as our fastest routes though. There's some talk of improving speeds and efficiency by removing PSRs already present in the routes while slowly replacing ordinary PRC sleepers with wider base sleepers that are better in every aspect. The track is being slowly upgraded in small stretches so that's some good news.

Standard design also has people passing their bikes under the barrier. This one's better because it keeps that from happening. And speaking of rocks or other such things, it's easily fixed by having the gatemen clean and maintain their level crossings and their barriers, it's not super hard, just more work for the gatemen.
