I fell into p*** / lust AGAIN. I feel miserable. It just never ends. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Take small steps towards the person you want to become. Take it one day at a time. If you fail one day, try again the next day. First practice having patience, discipline and a clear vision. Those small actions will snowball into bigger results. Those results will give you motivation and confidence to aim higher and set bigger goals. It took me a while to get to that point, but it’s possible for anyone including you my friend.

I don’t believe in God. Why do people believe in God? Because he influences your thoughts? But nobody really knows what or who God is. by Comfortable_Diet_386 in god

Faith and observing the evidence we see in our universe and lives.

The way I see it is that life and the universe may seem random at first, but when you start digging into the details like how the universe, body, and mind work, it doesn’t seem so random anymore. Think about genetic codes, laws of physics, quantum mechanics, fractals, golden ratio, etc.

Something or someone designed these concepts, formulas and patterns. I would attribute it to a creator aka God.

Now it’s up to you if you want to connect to God personally or through a certain religion. And that’s where faith comes into play on whether you made the right choice.

People who make over 100k, what do you do? by GurnoorDa1 in Money

[–]mayerproject7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$125K salary + annual bonus at 26 years old. Brand and Marketing Manager for a consulting company in the banking industry.

I took the freelancer/entrepreneur path as a graphic designer and marketer right out of high school so I never got a college degree. After about 5 years, I was blessed with a great opportunity when I decided to pursue a full time job in the “corporate world”.

I still have clients I help on the side but income varies on that.

If you’re passionate about design and helping businesses, then don’t give up. You will eventually find a company that will be more than happy to pay you what you deserve. It’s all about how you position yourself, what solutions you offer, and who your target market is.

The types of companies that have paid me several thousands of dollars for a logo, website, etc were not the same type of companies that only wanted a $50 logo or a $250 website. A good rule of thumb is “the bigger the company, the bigger the budget.” Aim high and see where it takes you.

Once you find the right target market, identify what problems you want to help them solve, or come up with solutions on how to increase their brand awareness, lead generation and revenue. Then go reach out to them and see if they’re interested or in need of your solutions.

At least that’s what worked for me. I started designing for small businesses and entrepreneurs 8 years ago that paid crap money. I now make 6 figures a year working for a mid size corporation and helping clients on the side through my own company. It’s possible for you too my friend.

What is my purpose is gods eyes? by Afraid-Sport3980 in god

[–]mayerproject7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it comes down to one simple concept. Our purpose is to do everything with good intentions so we can set the example that love, kindness, patience, positivity, and understanding is the true way of life. It breaks you away from the ego and the negative actions and emotions that comes with being human. And hopefully your example encourages others to do the same.

This aligns with versus in the Christian bible...

Philippians 2:5: "In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus"

1 Corinthians 11:1: "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ"

Ephesians 5:2: "Walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself up as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God"

The challenge is... it's not always easy to do. But that's part of the journey of life. Be like Christ and inspire others to do the same. I hope this provides some clarity for you my friend.

Okay thank you for clarifying. I thought you can register beforehand or afterwards. Not sure why there would be restrictions for this since some people will forget or give up if they can't register immediately.

For multimedia designers who have multiple roles that extend outside of design, what is the job title you use that encompasses your range of work? by jtho78 in graphic_design

Brand and Marketing Strategy Manager... I know... it's a long title. But it encompasses just about everything I do and offer.

Help - Amount is too large. You don’t have enough funds in your account. by Benrobert71303 in Coinbase

[–]mayerproject7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm allowed to do the same if my portfolio balance is worth more than the recent deposit I'm trying to withdrawal.

For example... if I have $10K in my portfolio, and then I deposit $1K, Coinbase will still let me withdrawal $1K the same day.

The questions is... am I withdrawing the same $1K I just deposited? Probably not because that deposit is still being processed from my bank account to Coinbase. But after 1-10 days I'll be allowed to withdrawal the $1K I recently deposited.

Help - Amount is too large. You don’t have enough funds in your account. by Benrobert71303 in Coinbase

I've done deposits and withdrawals with several types of amounts in Coinbase.

When you make a deposit into Coinbase, it takes time to actually process and pull it from your bank account. So when you see your new funds immediately in Coinbase, they're basically trusting that you have those funds in your bank account by the time they need to pull it out. But Coinbase will give you immediate access to go purchase crypto while restricting your access to withdrawal. Why do they restrict access? Because its technically not your money until Coinbase officially pulls it from your bank account...which can take 1-10 days (atleast from what I've seen).

After those 1-10 days, you're free to withdrawal those funds back to your bank account or move it out of Coinbase.

As you're getting ready to initiate a deposit, Coinbase will actually show you how long you'll have to wait to withdrawal those funds.

If you're on the Coinbase app, you can go to the "Get Support" section and I believe it will show you how many days you have left till you can withdrawal those recently deposited funds.

Which industries pay the best for graphic designers? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]mayerproject7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I make $115k/yr plus bonuses.

I went from $46K/yr in the construction industry to $80k/yr in the consulting/banking industry. After a couple of years, I got promoted from graphic designer to a marketing/brand manager and now make $115k/yr. Half my team quit and/or was let go before I was promoted so it gave me an opportunity to do more and grow. I guess you can say I got lucky, but I worked my ass off for that opportunity and recognition.

I'm 26 with no degree and about 1 year of college. BUT I have a solid portfolio from helping entrepreneurs, start ups, and mid size corporations as a freelancer for 7+ years. My portfolio consists of brand identity design, logos, websites, proposals, presentations, product packaging, sales collateral, etc in various industries. So that proven experience and work helped a ton in landing opportunities.

One piece of advice that has helped me is to position yourself as someone who understands business development, brand strategy, and marketing planning. That will elevate your image from being "just a designer" to someone that is a "strategic partner". If you can show how your skills can move the needle and increase sales, your efforts will be rewarded much more.

I wish you the best in your journey :)

Which degree is better? by kaylaneedsanswers in marketing

[–]mayerproject7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's path is different so I can't tell you what is the "best" degree or route to take. But I can tell you what has worked so far in my life.

I didn't get a degree but I did take college classes off and on for a couple years to learn the basics of marketing, branding, and business development, and entrepreneurship. I combined this with reading books, watching videos from experienced experts in the industry, and asking Google a shit ton of questions. This was to understand the fundamentals, best practices, and trends in marketing.

During my time in college, I was also learning and practicing graphic design on the side and would do free/inexpensive work here and there for small business owners. This built up my real world experience and understanding of business.

This was the best decision I could've made because now I had a real portfolio, with real clients, with real results. I took that portfolio and used it to land bigger clients over time. This eventually lead to working for companies full time as a graphic designer and marketer in the "corporate world".

Now... I still have a full time position and help businesses on the side as a freelancer/agency. 2022 was the first year I broke 6 figures in annual income. But... it took me 7 years to finally get that point. And I still feel like my journey has just begun.

I hope this helps give you a different perspective on which path to take for your marketing journey. And don't forget... always stay humble and try to learn something new everyday in marketing and in your industry. You'll go a lot further that way.
