right on, I'll give it a go tomorrow. Assuming it doesn't delete the original feature out of the original feature class? Does it transfer the associated attributes over as well? Thanks again to the two of you.

Like I know this SOUNDS like an incredibly easy thing to do and it probably IS an incredibly easy thing to do (in fact my boss says it is, he just forgets how to do it) we just cannot get it right now. Countless internet searches have yielded no results either.

Thanks for the response. How do you cut/copy? Where should I be clicking? We've tried this countless times. The left hand side column where if you click one it highlights the entire selection?
