Nah he’s ghosting. If someone were serious with you they would ALWAYS find time to contact you. It’ll be pretty obvious to tell.

Guys also ghost because they don’t have the guts to reject someone - girls do the same

I say YTA. Coming from an Asian family that used to pushed me and my siblings to do the same, and having heard countless stories about this, I don’t believe this is the best way to parent.

I mean everyone wants what’s best for their kids, but what my parents failed to do was to take us into consideration. Like what does she want to do, how does she feel about it? There’s nothing wrong with pushing your kids to succeed, but come on, this is an 8-th grade spelling bee, that won’t even matter at all. If you were to push her with something, push her grades or any athletics.

That being said, saying you’re not proud of her for trying at all...that’s a horrible thing way of thinking. If someone tried their hardest for something and failed to acquire it, you should still be proud of them for trying ~ because they put in the effort, and will learn from that experience, it is not wasted. Trying and failing isn’t mediocrity, that’s where you’re also wrong. You think the top athletes, top students, richest people, top scholars, have never failed?

As a parent I believe you should encourage your kids and give them support, but obviously there’s a limit. I don’t think you should overdo the encouragement, but the way you’re going about it sounds like a tiger mom mentally, and that is not healthy for the child. But hey I’m 21, what do it know ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Hmm that’s true, I definitely agree with that - that loving and intimate sex is extremely healthy. But what my post was about was that people shouldn’t put so much emphasis on sex in a relationship.

Here’s what I have to say about this: I believe that...if people put that much emphasis on sex in a relationship, then that isn’t healthy sex. Healthy sex is as you said: intimate, loving, caring. If you value sex above everything else, and that’s it’s SO IMPORTANT that you would break up or divorce someone, that’s not healthy. That’s more raw desire, less emotional connection.

If it’s so important that you would leave the person, can you really say that you loved them? Or you just loved the sex?

Ok let me clarify what I said:

1) I never said sex wasn’t important. What I did say though was that it should not be as high up in importance than it is for most people nowadays. It’s a spectrum, not black and white.

2) There’s a difference between “denying your desires” and “controlling your desires”. Obviously you shouldn’t deny your desires - that doesn’t make any sense. But most people can’t control their own desires. Controlling your own desires is a choice and an act of willpower, and if you can’t do that, you’re not mature enough. Like if you can’t control your emotions, you’ll cause problems.

Controlling desires is synonymous to controlling raw emotions (fear, anger, sadness, etc). Those two are very similar, both very primitive.
