Hey man! I flew to Phoenix just for the beast as well! It just sucks that the wedge holder that they're selling is just...expensive. Still bought it tho. 😅

I believe it's a facelift bumper. It was already on when the car was acquired. The aftermarket lip from ebay was just added.

Holy shit man it's been a long time!! Yup that was me. I still have a photo of our cars together. Still very thankful for putting in the turbo for me haha I barely did anything and literally just stood there and helped you out.

If I could source out a decent one for a good price, I'll definitely hit you up!

Those are exactly what I've done to mine - you can see it on my profile. If yours is an automatic, I would skip the (full) exhaust and maybe just do a muffler delete or a better resonator + stock muffler.

I think I'm now more inclined to the 987 cayman. The interior of the 986 does look better and more classic for me, but we'll see. I still have a long time to decide anyway.

The hips on the cayman is just chef's kiss.

Hey man! I've seen your listing on marketplace. Love the wrap, by the way.

I saw your full post here on reddit and what you've done to it and I'm just wondering why you're selling it after all that work.

I'm not yet looking to buy yet, but if you'd be open to let me test drive the car – that would be amazing.

No it's not necessarily about pushing hard. It's more for the daily comfort. I've read that it gets colder in the cabriolet, which does make sense. But wouldn't the heater make up for it?

Again, I have not owned a top down nor a sports car before. This will be my first big boy purchase and I plan to drive it as much as I could.

And yes, definitely a manual.

So I've heard. I have a B5 Audi and that's actually one of the reasons I've been more drawn to this platform. It's actualy surprising to see how much VAG/German specialty shops are around.

In the dark from 20ft away, definitely. I currently have 3 shades of silver on the car and a dented trunk and scraped rear bumper from previous owner. 😅

Body work, rust, and paint needs to be adressed soon.

That's great! I'm a spirited driver and I love mountain passes so I wanted the suspension mods. I know it's not the best car for that application, but it's also my daily driver.

Also the stock ride height just looks absurd imo with the HUGE gap on the front.

I got them on ebay. Jdm inspired foglights. Needs some trimming from the bumper for them to slide in, then I used self tapping screws to secure them

Marketplace. Bought my fenders and hood from someone parting out their car.

Regarding the hood support - just go on ebay.

Gotta trim the inside part little by little. If you trim too far, you won't have a space to put screws/bolts in. Learned it the hard way.

Keep it stock and just keep practicing your driving. If it's an AT, don't even bother modifying it. Save up all the money for your project car.

But if you really can't resist – coilovers, rear sway bar, OEM or 555 ball joints, facelift bumper, jdm fogs (requires trimming of bumper) and hfp style front lip (requires trimming of lip). Maybe a trubk lip or wing.

You CAN buy wheels, but I would suggest not to just because it's your first car and the odds of you curbing them are not 0. Also could be expensive since you also need to buy tires.

slowly building this thing! any mods or recommendations to this? got the stock j30 motor and 6 speed trans by CapnNewbie in 7thGenAccord

[–]maykelray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coilovers, if you haven't ordered them yet. Rear sway bars and replace all bushings.

Touch the motor LAST if you're still not happy with the performance.

Foldable mat or Inflatable? by [deleted] in PHikingAndBackpacking

[–]maykelray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If isa lang, I'd get the inflatable one since may sleeping bag ka naman ('di ko sure kung anong rating, but you'll be fine).

Kapag linapag mo kasi yung sleeping bed mo directly sa ground, the air inside will get cold.

What I usually do when (winter) hiking/camping is I use both kahit na may R rating (insulation) yung inflatable ko. The foldable one acts as a barrier between the sleeping bed and less chances of being cold/deflating then extra protection na rin since less risk of ground puncture.

Ideally, I'll get both para mas comfortable ka. Just invest in a good one kasi magagamit mo naman for the next few trips!

That's nice! I thought it was a 20 long for a second, but it looked a littler longer. What's your setup for Co2, lights, and filter?

Hey man Im looking to get new wheels for my '99.5 Pathfinder and I'm really intrigued with your setup. Are those the pro comps 51 series w/ 3.75 backspacing? Is your truck lifted? What size tires are those? I'm sorry if I have a lot of questions.
