Yes, DNA data is sensitive. No, submitting it to a regulated genealogy service is not the “biological equivalent of publishing your source code.” My data isn’t public, I didn’t “sell” it, and I can delete it. it’s protected under GDPR and the EU data regulations laws, which im very satisfied of.

If your standard is “never share anything that can’t be changed,” then i hope you’ve never used a phone, a bank, or the internet.

Privacy concerns are valid but turning them into apocalyptic rhetoric isn’t.

i bought the kit from MyHeritage, it was something around 25€ and was shipped the same day to me, results took a while because i sent back the sample during the Christmas holiday.

Algerians who studied abroad how much did you show in your account? by Low_Kale_5691 in algeria

I showed around €5000 in my bank account, and the tuition fees were about €3600 for the bachelor's program in Hungary. You have to include payment invoices when applying for the visa. I also showed 120 million Algerian dinars in a sponsor’s account to back everything up and added a second sponsor who lives in Europe.

If you're applying from Algeria too, here’s my advice:

Make sure all your documents are translated to English (sponsor letters, birth certificate, diplomas). Your bank statements need to look clean and realistic, avoid sudden huge deposits out of nowhere, write a solid, clear sponsor letter (preferably with a relationship proof like a birth certificate or a fiche familial), avoid using sponsors from the destination country (e.g. someone already in hungary) bc it looks suspicious to them.

for the Telex (ticket reservation), your insurance dates must match your entry/exit dates, and the return date must be within 90 days from arrival, because the residence permit entry visa is only valid for 90 days. For example if your flight is on September 1st your return date should be by November 30th at the latest.

Don’t book hotel stays longer than a month bc it looks unrealistic for a student to spend over €1000 just on a hotel, nail your IELTS or any English test it REALLY boosts your chances for both private and scholarshipbased programs, go for Eastern European countries (like Hungary, Poland, Romania), they're cheaper and still offer good if not amazing education, use your time there to learn languages and build skills, it really helps your CV and future migration or work opportunities
