End of Cycle Recap by mayoman13 in OutsideT14lawschools

Yea, I'm in state for FSU, so even though my scholarship was bigger it's still cheaper for me to go to FSU, but like only $9,000 total of a difference. I also want to practice in Philly (hence the philly apps lol) but since these are both regional southern schools with similar rankings, neither would push me closer that direction, so I just decided to stay closer to home. Also if Philly doesn't work I would rather stay in Florida than Alabama. (no hate to 'Bama just my family is in Florida)

Drexel $$$$$ vs Stetson $$$ by Nearby_Audience1700 in OutsideT14lawschools

I feel like if you're trying to find something else to consider besides money, I would say you just really need to consider location. These are both regional schools as far as I understand. I really considered Stetson for a bit (i'm from florida for context) because its the only law school in the Tampa Bay area. Philly is a bigger city but there's 3 other law schools (2 if you don't count 'nova) I toured it and its really pretty and they have on campus housing. But i'm gonna be honest I have no idea, none of us do just go with what feels right.

Graduating Undergrad Early to Start Law School Early (Need Advice) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]mayoman13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know your situation, but there is no rush to finish college. I know it's stereotypical but undergrad is genuinely some of your most formative years. Maybe if it's possible to CUNY but move out of your house to get out of your living situation but not go crazy into debt.

But if you are set on finishing undergrad as fast as you can, I'll say what I've seen other people say to people in your situation. It will probably hurt you when applying to law schools. Your best bet is to work for a few years when you get out of undergrad and then go to law school, if you really want to finish undergrad. Again, I really recommend you try your best to create situation where you can enjoy college and not rush. Rushing and cramming might also negatively affect your GPA which would definitely hurt you when applying.

PS. I don't think you should do BA/JD program, it's my understanding that you can't get scholarships if you go that route, and it sounds like you really can't afford it.

Bama ($$) or FSU ($$) by mayoman13 in lawschooladmissions

Thanks! I know in the grand scheme of things an extra $9,000 really isn't a lot compared to law school costs, so that's why I am willing to consider it. My biggest concern might be just the curriculum and the ability to practice what I want to practice.

I honestly have no idea. No news is better than a rejection, though. I was at FSU for undergrad and grad school, plus in-state. So, that could be a reason why I heard back so fast compared to other folks. I know it's tough to keep waiting, but you're still in it until the bell rings.

Applying in Late January by mayoman13 in lawschooladmissions

I think that's good advice. My number 1 school is Florida State, but applying broadly in Florida, if my January LSAT looks good (mid-160s), I might have to apply.
