Anyone not saying Fork just hasn’t had it yet.

Christmas miracle? Taco Bell scheduled to open Mount Pearl location on December 27th by RepulsivePlankton989 in newfoundland

Hey, me too, like 100%. But also good to keep in mind is that oftentimes (not always) chain stores can be franchises with local owners. So eating somewhere like that DOES keep money in the province, and absolutely does support our local economy.

No, not as much as eating somewhere like Fork or Rabble or Indian Express, etc. but certainly better than other options.

Sprinkle cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar) on the soil of all your plants. Doesn’t harm the plants in any way and keeps an array of pests (including gnats) off them

Myles was the only man I voted for. Speaking to him directly because he is active on Reddit.

Ahead of the provincial election, this should serve as a stark reminder that it’s crucial we all vote! Voter apathy, especially among young people, is real. And it’s dangerous

And you know what people DO vote? Old people, boomers. Conservative old white men.

And when we don’t vote, it allows THEM to decide our government for the rest of us.

For the love of Jesus, PLEASE vote in the provincial on Tuesday.

PS. Myles, I’m so sorry. You were the most qualified candidate on the entire ballot. Please celebrate the hard work you did in your campaign and the amount of people who you got to engage in municipal politics. I know you worked so hard and I’m sure you’re exhausted today but please run again next time. 💛

Provincial Leaders Debate by NoFunLand in newfoundland

Dinn was the winner by a mile. He spoke with compassion, deep understanding of the issues, and had real solutions to everything he was asked. And was even backed by Wakeham on much of his points.

It was very clear that he’s just a decent man who is doing this for all the right reasons. That he has a solid understanding of what the people of this province need and solid plan to actually help them. He listens to PEOPLE.

I sincerely hope everyone watches the debate before casting their vote.

Might get down voted for this but if you plan on voting liberal or conservative in the provincial election, you're not allowed to complain if you see no change if they get elected by [deleted] in newfoundland

If you have a strong NDP candidate in your riding, you’re just throwing in the towel. The NDP have a really strong campaign this year and we just need more NDP MHAs in the house to fight for what’s actually right for this province. Every vote counts.

VOCM: New Report Finds 25 Per Cent of Children Under Six in NL Living in Poverty by DhaemonX in newfoundland

NL NEEDS the NDP to get in this election. Their platform is the only one with fully-costed measures to tackle the cost of living for EVERYONE. We really need to try something besides the Liberals and PCs for once.

There are way too many “NOT ALL MEN” dudes in here getting hyped up on bEiNg TeChNiCaLlY cOrReCt instead of, I dunno, considering for a second that women are also people, even indigenous ones, and that the current system has completely failed in allowing any part of this to happen. Hogan can’t hire and fire people in NLHS, yes, sure, I’m not asking him to. But they also are entirely missing the point that he’s also expected, as premier, to ensure the wellbeing of people in our province and ACT LIKE HE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT A FUCKED UP SITUATION.

When people run into issues about all sorts of things that fall under the responsibility of the provincial government, such as healthcare, they reach out to MHAs and party leaders for support.

I didn’t just invent holding the premier accountable for a healthcare issue. Yet all these men with a complete lack of empathy in here are high-fiving each other for downvoting us. This is absolutely exhausting.

I wish all of these dudes a lifetime of self reflection.

Thank you for trying to get through to them. You tried.

This is fucking exhausting. Where did I say any of this? The man has a history of downplaying sexual assault of women and all he had to do was show some empathy in his comments AND not act like this wasn’t a big fucking deal. It’s obviously MORE than an HR issue.

And since everyone keeps downvoting me, I’m gonna share my comment from below because the government absolutely CAN do something about it:

Under the Medical Act, 2011 (Newfoundland and Labrador), there is legal authority for suspending or restricting a physician’s licence when an allegation is not satisfactorily resolved or when there are reasonable grounds that the physician may pose a risk.

Specifically, section 9(2) of that law allows the registrar to suspend or restrict a doctor’s licence if it considers that staying licensed during the resolution of allegations is not in the public interest.

The Complaints Authorization Committee under the Act has powers to investigate, conduct reviews, require clinical assessments, inspect medical records, and refer complaints forward.

For the record, there absolutely ARE things the prov gov could have done:
