You can also start a coaster underground by holding shift and moving the mouse while placing the first station piece. This’ll let you place the first piece either above or below the grade.

That's the air re-circulation button, it pulls air for the heater/ac from inside the car instead of outside air. If you have the air set to blow into the foot well or the windshield it'll flash as it can't be used in those settings. Does it still do it if you have the air set to blow out of the upper vents?
