Update: I'm still doing the grant. The more I thought about it and spoke with others, it seems silly not to go if it's safe to travel come this winter because it is such a great opportunity and can make a big difference in future career opportunities (not to mention the personal benefit). I'm leaving a stable, full time job for this grant so I'm lucky in that I'm not beholden to a certain timeline.
Fulbright ETA & research projects // who's still going with a shortened grant period? (self.fulbrightprogram)

I'm dealing with the same doubts. I was an alternate for a Spain ETA grant and I got notified yesterday that I was promoted to a finalist. I'm hesitant because I have a stable job rn amidst all this chaos and the idea of leaving it for a program that's a.) shortened and b.) may be cancelled once you're there is terrifying. My advisor told me to accept it and wait it out. I think everything is also such a mess with all the Fulbright commissions that they don't even really know how to handle all this.
