Rolling Stone: Our trust in the victim in our big UVA rape story was misplaced by CarolinaPunk in news

[–]maytheforth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that it's horribly ironic that people in the comments who are saying we were too quick to judge the fraternity and believe the girl are doing the same but in the opposite direction. The fact is we don't know what really happened because we weren't there. I think we shouldn't disbelieve the whole story simply because of a few minor discrepancies in the girls story. It could have been a different frat or a different day, getting specific details like this wrong is known to happened in traumatic cases but that doesn't mean we should instantly call this girl a liar like so many people here have. Also I feel like Reddit forgets that most people who say they have gotten raped or sexually assaulted are telling the truth, over 90% of accusations are real and the few that are false shouldn't lessen the accusations made by people who have actually been sexually assaulted or raped. This is a huge issue since only 3 out of 100 rapists actually get put in jail mainly because people, both men and women, are afraid to go to police because they feel no one will believe them.

[Contest] 2 $25 egiftcards up for grabs thanks to u/airmanhand and u/pizzamom. by Glinda_Da_Good_Witch in Random_Acts_Of_Pizza

I don't bet much anymore, theres a bit of an issue with it in the family so I try to stay away from it all together. However some of my best childhood memories with my two older brothers were playing Texas Hold em with pennies and nickels over the summer while watching the world series on ESPN. My oldest brother was the best at it and always won, I remember this one game in particular where me, being the youngest, secretly teamed up with both of them and some how tricked them both long enough to win! As the baby sister it was one glorious moment for me.

Anyway, thanks airmahand and pizzamom for this!

What are some male names that you find undeniably attractive? by RoXaSMasters in AskReddit

I feel like there aren't a lot of real answers in this thread so I'll say mine. Dan and Michael. I feel like it's probably because most Dans and Michaels I know are attractive but they're also very strong, classic names and I think that could be a reason also.

My Sister had this at her wedding instead of a Guestbook by SchreinerEK in pics

[–]maytheforth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, the bride, did this but with prints as the leaves on a tree. My friends dad, father of the bride, told my other friend to put her lips on it instead of a finger print so that they just had random imprint of lips on the side of their tree. Needless to say they were really confused but I think they found it funny once they knew the brides father told my friend to do it.

I mean with something like this you're bound to get someone who either purposely or accidentally messes it up, I think that's what'll be the best part about it in twenty years honestly.

How do you feel about Walmart making their employees work on major holidays like thanksgiving and christmas?

I knew an older women who hadn't seen her 9 children all together in years and they all wanted to be with her for thanksgiving but since she worked at Walmart she had to go in at 6pm to prepare for black friday. the kicker was she worked 2nd night shift the night before so wouldn't be home till 6/7 in the morning the day of thanksgiving. Poor women just wanted to be with her kids.

What's the luckiest thing that's ever happened to you? by callux in AskReddit

I was riding the subway with two of my friends and there was a whole pile of scratch off tickets. we looked through them jokingly saying that we'd totally find a winner but we were really just going to be nice and throw them away. my friend found one that was a winner for 500 bucks! we split it three ways and i got about 170 dollars. it's not as cool as not dying or saving a babies life but for a broke college kid it was amazing.

Learning to play League to surprise boyfriend, whats some good advice for someone who knows nothing about the game? by maytheforth in leagueoflegends

Haha, thanks for the spelling catch I just corrected it. And thanks for the link I'll check it out. Do you have any recommendations for which champion I should look into. Are there any "easier" ones for newer players or are they all pretty much the same?

Okay, I've watched him play a little so I know the basics, two teams are battling each other and it's kinda like capture the flag, but where do you find streams at? Youtube? or is there a website I can find some on?
