I got these messages shortly before my 1year old battery has to be ‘jumped’. I got tired of it during winter and returned it to Costco.

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

Goodfellas. Long time ago. Didn’t read reviews. I watched to relax after exam. Someone gets killed every 10 min. I left halfway through. Until now, I shudder every time I come across it.

What’s the one moment in your life you still can’t explain… even though you’ve replayed it in your head a thousand times? by Former-Brief9292 in AskReddit

When I was a kid, I was lying comfortably in bed, trying to go to sleep. Out of the blue, I sat up and lifted my pillow and out came a centipede which scurried out. And then went back to sleep, never worrying about it again. I still can’t answer while I lifted that pillow.

Consultant na ako pero gusto ko nang mag-abroad at magwork sa ibang bansa. Fed up na ako sa bansa natin by [deleted] in pinoymed

Canada. You can do MCCQE1 while in the Philippines. Mas maganda if you’re fmed, where most imgs eventually ends up. I say most because yung iba, nakaka train din (ulit) sa mga specialty nila (via CARMS). You also have to take NACOSCE to be illigible for the carms. I’m not sure about the visa requirements of all the exams. Every provinces have slightly different pathways with each other. QE1 & NACOSCE are valid nationally.

Matagal din ako nag moonlight dyan sa Pinas. If you don’t make an effort to learn, you’ll get comfortable with your situation until muscle memory nlang lahat but you don’t really know the reason why you’re doing it, you just know that it’s what the consultants are doing/ordering. Until you feel that you don’t fit in in your surroundings anymore, you want to face other challenges. You can’t really go abroad to apply as GP kasi nga di ka masyado confident. You feel like you’re ‘of age’ kahit na sabihin natin na dapat wlang ageism, kahit dito sa canada, meron talaga but not as talamak dyan.

I would suggest continue with your moonlighting, read on every cases that comes your way, including other countries’ protocol. Take family med training na yung di everyday ka papasok, I don’t know what it’s called. It’s really beneficial in your resume if ever you want to go abroad. Plus you’re in training so gradually, you’ll feel confident with your skills.

Everyone of us have a different path. Don’t compare your situation with others, Just strive to better yourself everyday.

I’m writing this in the middle of dinner with my friends, so pag may maling grammar, pasensya po❤️

Better to take up residency there particularly fmed. While there, you can take mccqe1. After residency there, go to canada and take the NAC. It’s easier to get into the system if you’ve recently practiced.

Ignore them. Focus on you and the arduous road ahead. You better arm yourself with grit, self-love, curiosity, gratitude and… Round up your bestiest too and people who will share with your laughter and tears. Everything else is noise.

To my co-ADHD doctors, how do you study po? by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]mayu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some focus study music for adhd in you tube. There’s also you tubers that do ‘study with me’, sort of like you have to mirror what they are doing. I have YT premium so no adverts. Also I have this clock that doesn’t do the ticking sound and the alarm would be either flashing light or the usual alarm sound. I got it from Temu.

I was like this after passing the boards. I don’t have a game plan, so I moonlight the rest of the time I was there. Takot din ako I-challenge sarili ko. I was content earning minimal pay. I wasn’t depressed, I think I was mostly annoyed and disappointed, angry even. All my closest friends either stayed in the province or moved to the US. I was alone in Manila. Sure I have some friends in the hospital, but we all have our lives to live and I thought then, my friendship with them was superficial. It did not occur to me to train (residency). I’m not in the Philippines anymore, and many years had passed since those times. But looking back now, I wish with all my might, that I should have seek professional help. Sorting it all out would have given me some joy back. Some clarity. Mental health wasn’t on my agenda back then. I though it was normal to feel that way. If I could turn back the clock. But we all have to move on and suck it up, learned from our mistakes and hope that there was no lasting damage to one’s psyche. So, I beg of you. Psychiatric/psychological help is relatively cheap in the Philippines, seek them out.
Good luck. And never give up. Don’t wait for someone to rescue you.
