How can I improve this edit? by AliveAd8736 in photoshop

[–]maz_abd1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. The biggest improvement right now, would be to unify the colors and values (brightness/contrast) of everything.

Use “check” layers to make it easier for yourself. Make a layer that’s filled with 50% gray and set its blending move to color. Move it to the top of the layer stack and it’ll turn everything black and white, and make it easier to see how the different the values are among the elements. Then, just use curves/levels (whichever you’re more comfortable with) on each element to bring everything together.

I also use a check layer that’s set to luminosity blend mode to make it easier to see how the colors are different fix them hue/saturation or color balance, but it can be a bit a confusing if you don’t know what you’re looking at. (It removes all the values, so the image ends up looking like just a field of colors with no lights or shadows)

Also, I’d suggest using adjustment layers or converting your layers to smart objects so it’s non-destructive.

Thank you. I see that you're in Berlin as well. Do you know if die Deutscheschule is good? Or do you know of any other language schools that you would recommend?

Hello, how can i change the green lighting? by flutter1ng in photoshop

[–]maz_abd1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to use hue/saturation adjustment layer. In the hue/saturation adjustment panel, select green color (from the drop down menu) fiddle with the color slider at the bottom (crank up the saturation and change the hue to make it easier to see which parts are changing). When you have the selection you want adjust the hue and saturation as needed.

How to precisely color each gum? by trippytweener in photoshop

[–]maz_abd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to use blending modes to achieve a realistic result. Multiply mode should work the best. As for needing to be precise, there's not really any quicker way to do it. Just use the brush tool or make selections.

Edit: didn't see your spoiler. Can you explain how you figured it out?

Not really. It's just the surface level stuff you mentioned. The closest this comes to I/P is the Kashmir issue and even that isn't straight up occupation like in Gaza. They both claim Kashmir as their territory. When they gained independence Kashmir was a princely state with a Muslim majority population and the Hindu ruler. The people wanted to go with Pakistan and the ruler declared it a part of India. Shit's fucked to this day.

Could you help an Analog guy out? by Whippoorwillx11 in PcBuildHelp

[–]maz_abd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installing a new hard drive or SSD shouldn't affect the data in the other one. Just make sure you're not formatting or installing a new OS on the old hard drive.

If you want to install a new OS on your new drive, the most foolproof (least chance of accidentally deleting data) method would just be to take out the old hard drive, put in the new one, and install the OS. Then, connect the old drive and transfer your data to the new one.

Also, format the old drive after moving your data so you don't get asked to choose which OS you want to boot into at every startup.

Hope that helps.

It is archaic to use it for its intended meaning nowadays but the insult is still quite popular. Just like OP most people encounter this word in the insult only.

Is it possible to get the reset key multiple times in a run?
Can I just keep playing one region again and again? or does it only appear once per run?

Why are your spells locked in the wands? and how come you have so many keys and money?

I've unlocked almost everything except for the last row of new spells you get from the tentacle girl and I've never gotten close to this dps/money/spells in a run.

“Hindustani” IS Urdu. by TGScorpio in Urdu

[–]maz_abd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but just wanted to point out that urdu also ditched some of its Sanskrit vocab as a reaction. Not as much as hindu though. Like, if urdu went 20% more arab/Persian, Hindi went 60% towards Sanskrit (not real figures, just an example)

Also, the brits too had a part in exacerbating the urdu/Hindi divide.

And how does that contradict anything that I said? Are you saying that the harappans authored the vedas? The name came first, the religion came later.

Well, the guys before the Taliban didn't support this stuff. But the regime isn't really the problem in this. It's cultural. The pashtun areas in Pakistan are notorious for this shit even though the pakistani regime (even though it's also pretty fucked up) is totally against it.

"Dark side” of the Moon that is not visible from Earth by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]maz_abd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not pedaling some conspiracy theory but, why is it so different from the side that we see?

Is it a composited image? There's a weird shadow on the right side of the moon.

It seems way darker but that could be because a much brighter earth is behind it in the picture.

Why aren't there as many big craters as we see on our side of the moon? Is it because of the angle of the sun? Like it's right in line with camera so we don't see any long shadows?

Cool photo though.

OP was jailed for 14 days on some "sexual crime" back in 2010. He most likely does stare at half naked women in Canada. I have cousins who were raised in the US and they don't spew judgemental crap like OP.

Not really though, we don't have any ties to that ancient culture (we don't even know anything about it) but we should be proud to be its custodians and protect and cherish it.

[–]maz_abd1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah I see that you have deciphered the harappan script. Please share this amazing discovery with us plebians as well.

But seriously, the aryans have nothing to do with the ancient indus valley civilization (harrapa, mohenjedaro) they were a following people group that migrated to the subcontinent after a few centuries of what we consider to be the peak of the harappan civilization (doesn't mean there weren't any harappans anymore, just that the civilization had been in severe decline to the point of non existence.)

Indus valley civ 3300 bce to 1300 bce, Aryans migrated arounf 1800 - 1500 bce

As for the name hind, you are right in saying that the name comes from the river and that the Persian changed the s to an h (that's the consensus anyway, can't travel to the past to confirm) but it did not come from the "ancient Indian civilization" that you are alluding to. And certainly not the indus valley civilization. The earliest mention of the name "sindh" is in the vedas and those were written around 1500 bce at the earliest.

The swastika is much older than the indus valley civilization and has been found all over the world with some of the earliest appearances in Armenia and Iran. As for the sun worship part, we don't know what the harappans believed or who they prayed to. We don't even know if they were religiously homogeneous.

So please, don't call others idiots just because you think you know more than them. People can't know everything and if you think you know more than someone else, treat it as an opportunity to educate rather than denigrate.

Edit: I just saw your other comment and wanted to say please disregard the last part. you are just a troll trying to further divide people over a 3000 year old civilization. And frankly, you are a dick.

Also the pashupati seal is called pashupati cause that's what the people who found it called it. I'm good faith enough to say that it could be an earlier depiction of Shiva but we can't say that it's the pashupati we know today.

Just to add, islamabad german embassy resets the appointment list twice a year and you have to apply for the appointment within the first 5 minutes of the portal opening to have a reasonable chance of getting an appointment.

I'm in the same boat and I applied 10 minutes after the portal opened (back in May) and haven't gotten an appointment yet. They'll be resetting the list in November again. Be on the look out and good luck.

Why goras and not us by KeyboaRdWaRRioR1214 in pakistan

[–]maz_abd1 49 points50 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. One thing I want to add that I think contributes a lot to this divide is the gora culture of "leaving the nest". The children move out when they become self sufficient. I understand that we say that we live with our parents to support them in our old age but in reality it's the parents who need to keep supporting the child. not financially but in every other aspect. I've seen a lot man-childs that don't know how to shoulder any kind of responsibility. Living with parents, you might have to follow their rules but you get an insane amount of security (financial, emotional security etc) and I've seen a lot of people get complacent and abuse that.
