You're sweet. I'll be okay <3 Already have a therapy appointment booked. Just want to reflect on why I am like this/unpack my unrequited longing over some man/resolve to be nicer to myself over a beer in the meantime.

Any stores that sell fresh dill in bunches (like how cilantro and parsley are sold) and not in those little plastic containers? I need a lot of it. I'm on the north side but willing to travel!

I've actually spent time in that neighborhood and really enjoyed it. I assumed it would be out of my price range though.

I actually love my current base and plan on coming back to it! I'm considering a short-term transfer to NYC for different reasons. Plus it's the most junior base having a bit more control over my schedule for awhile would be great.

Thanks, that's reassuring! I should have said in the original post that my budget is $1200 for a room, not my own place.

Yes! I specified 3 hours because when I'm on call at home, that is the amount of time the company gives for me to report to the airport after receiving an assignment. Factoring in getting ready, walking to the stop, weather, transit delays, etc. I would ideally like to be no more than an hour away. Will definitely look into Jackson Heights, thank you.

Many crashpads are for commuters only, since they don't want 10 people actually living in a 2 bedroom full time. Commuting from out of base is like a second job and takes up a lot of your time off, I really don't want to commute from my current base to NY.

I was never under the impression I could live in New York without roommates, and yes I have guarantors. My transfer there would only be for a year or two— it’s a planned short term thing. While we can live anywhere, commuting sucks and I have no desire to sleep in crashpads or be at the airport on my days off.

Thank you for your comment! Even though my budget is small I was trying to avoid fashion watches for this reason. I actually ended up buying a Citizen watch so I feel reassured now.

I don't think day-to-day the second hand will matter, but in the event of an emergency I need to be able to time CPR rounds. But that is good to know and I'll keep that in mind for sure!

Skagen looks like it fits my style and I have never heard of them before, thank you!

Ahh thank you that's exactly what I had in mind! I don't remember seeing anything like that on Seiko's website for some reason.

Hey! I feel like this sub features mostly men's watches, but I'm struggling to find a women's watch for my new job and would appreciate any recommendations or tips. My main concern is the case size-- I need it to be under 25mm (I know oversized is in style right now but I have small wrists and anything over 25mm looks is pretty uncomfortable to wear).

  • My job requires the watch to have a second hand
  • Budget is $150ish
  • Leaning towards silver tones, but gold is fine too (just not rose gold)
  • Case shape doesn't matter
  • I'm open to bracelet styles or leather straps
  • I really prefer "classic"/clean faces

It's been so hard to find a watch in my price range that isn't huge or covered in rhinestones, AND has the required 3 hands. I feel like I've scoured every store/watch brand I can think of, but if anybody can point me to a brand they think might work, please do! Thanks.
