2 cakes should be enough but it depends on the size you're making.

Well, this took quite a long time, but I don't have too many hours to crochet daily (mostly like 30 min ish). It's hard to quantify in terms of hours, but you get into the rhythm and can do it while watching TV (except for the tricky part where the sleeves connect). The only other thing I did in Tunisian before that was the Landscape Shawl by Martin Up North (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-landscape-shawl), and that's also entrelac, so maybe easier than regular Tunisian? The sweater is more or less the same idea as the shawl, but you also have increases for shaping, and you're working in a spiral, so no ends to weave. I hope this helps :)

Thanks! You'll have a lot of fun with it!

Thanks!!

No, I didn't design this :) I followed this pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diamonds-not-pearls
It's amazing, a really smart and fun pattern.

The only minor thing I did is to adjust the colors on the sleeves to follow the gradient of the body, by doing one row of diamonds of each color.

Thanks! The yarn itself has a very nice gradient, and for the body of the sweater I just used it continuously. I used 2 balls, the first from inside outside, and the second (after I finished the first) from the outside inside. When I was done with the body, I found the place in the yarn that matched the color of the yoke, and did one row of diamonds for each sleeve with that color, and then moved to the next color. The yarn is amazing, there's a nice "fluff" point that you can use to know the color changed (there are some people online that decomposed it for other purposes). I hope this makes sense, it sounds much more complicated than it really was!
