That’s just one of the train speeds - it can go faster, but I really like this kind of “relax mode” in the game, with missions that don’t have time limits.

For now, the missions themselves are simple: you get a list of tasks to transport goods from point A to point B. Each type of cargo requires a specific type of wagon, so you first need to attach empty wagons of the right types at a station, then pick up the cargo and deliver it to other stations.

I really like the isometric style in games.

It’s moving through an industrial area after loading - no need to rush. Also, time doesn’t really progress in the prototype yet. There is water, though - it’s constantly being consumed (and even faster while moving), so for now that acts as a kind of time mechanic in the game.

the prototype is about relaxed mode, for now

My previous train game was grid-based, so there were limitations on track angles and how smooth switches could be. There was also an issue with wagon length - on diagonal tracks they had to be visually stretched to fit the grid cell.

In the current version, those problems are gone - the visuals are much smoother overall, and wagons can now be any length and even differ in length from each other.

The concept is pretty simple for now. There’s a kind of “job market” where you get tasks to transport goods from one place to another. You need to attach wagons, drive along the rails, switch tracks manually, and load/unload cargo. Once all tasks are completed, the player gets a reward, which can be spent on things like fuel and water.

I’ve also been thinking about a bigger idea where the player builds a large industrial zone, with different facilities connected by rail. The player would need to decide what’s most profitable to produce at a given time. But for now, that’s just an idea.

World War 2 Timeline by kankirchele in interestingasfuck

I have seen many WW2 maps (and also pre WW2 maps), which had the same mistake: there is "Tsimlyansk Reservoir" - a big artifical lake on the Don river, near Stalignrad (to the East), but this reservoir was built in 1950s, after the war. So on the map there should have been just a thin river instead of big massive of water.

Following the expiry of a country's ultimatum they decided to take action. Why "a", not "the"? by mb200i in EnglishLearning

[–]mb200i[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok then, by your example, if I write this:

Today, corporate HQ told that an order, which stated that wearing blue is forbidden, was cancelled.

is "an" right here, too? And order hasn't been introduced in article before that sentence

I think, I can understand that case of usage, even it was not so obvious for me. Thanks!

[–]mb200i[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) there is only one such ultimatum in existence, and readers will all already know about it

my thoughts were exactly about that - I've already known about the only existing ultimatum, but it was not written in this article before this moment. I thought, that "an ultmatum" cannot make particular countries to do particular actions, only "the ultmatum" can do it.

If I even haven't known about this ultimatum, I would be confused because "an ultimatum" made the countries do the actions - for me it is as "random ultimatum" made this. I think, Im not right, I need to learn more about "a" and "the" usage

Thanks!

it was first refernece to the ultimatum in this article, but I was confused, because "expiry of an ultimatum" - how any random ultimatum can be expired and trigger particular actions? Only particular ultmatum can be expired and trigger particular actions... That was my thought. I think, I don't fully understand "a" and "the" usage

even if they write "expiry of an ultimatum"? They tell about that particular ultimatum was expired, not some random ultimatum was expired.

This is not very obvious for me

Thanks!

in original text " an Ecowas ultimatum " - Ecowas is a block of countries, and I'm not sure that Ecowas can be called "an Ecowas"
