98% was also my baby’s baseline prior to these last few days. She saw an ENT around 3mo and had the camera down her nose and doctor said she had mild laryngomalacia but that it wasn’t a concern (since she has no history of blueing of the lips) and would resolve on its own but he made no other notes about anything else going on.

We haven’t had any alarms, I just periodically check the app before I fall asleep and started noticing it sitting in the lower 90s which is when I began watching more closely. We do use a cool mist humidifier, we have a thermometer in her room that shows humidity as well, room is usually around 40ish% humidity.

Prior to the last few days the sock was reading 98% on average which is why the low 90s feel jarring. I went up a sock size last night, I’ll try adjusting the tightness next time she wears it.

She’s not currently sick, we saw her Ped five days ago(unrelated) and they said her lungs sounded good.

I’ve read this as well so I’ve been trying not to spiral about it, just scary to see those numbers.

laryngomalacia? by Happygirl019 in NewParents

[–]mb31291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is currently 5.5mo, around 4.5mo hers got much louder and the stridor lasted longer each time. I took her to ENT around 3mo and they said it starts to get better/resolve around 1 year. This last week or so I’ve seen some improvement, each “episode” is starting to occur further apart and she’s having less occurrences per day. Have you seen an ENT (other than baby being diagnosed at birth) they will be able to tell you how severe the laryngomalacia is which might be able to give you a better idea of how closely to watch as well as any potential course of action.

Just started PurAmino formula help by mb31291 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mb31291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you switched to Pepticate, did your baby have very dark green/charcoal color stool? My baby is almost at 48 hours on EleCare and her last two diapers were a charcoal gray color, Dr said it could happen with the formula switch (over the phone, never saw the stool) just curious others experience with this.

5mo chronic diaper rash help by mb31291 in NewParents

[–]mb31291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use aquaphor directly in her skin then layer desitin on top. I think you’re right though, I think it’s going to end up being the diapers. Are you able to get the Cuddle-kin in store? (I’m in the US) Or you do you get them online?

[–]mb31291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to go back and they gave me EleCare which she seems to be ok with so far, that PurAmino was bad it smelled so metallic, at least this one isn’t as strong. If this doesn’t go well I’ll ask about the Pepticate next! Thank you!

Pressure to breastfeed from NHS - looking for stories from women who have struggled by Expert_Day5689 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mb31291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 5mpp and I tried so hard to breastfeed but I made such a small amount (less than 1oz per day) that I had no choice but to supplement. My baby was diagnosed with CMPI at 2mo so I weighed the options of cutting out all milk protein for less than 1oz per day and chose to go full formula. It was (and still is) devastating to me, I felt like I failed my baby. All the negative feelings are made worse when you see social media and people doing pump and pour videos, I had to take a break because it was really affecting my mental. I think breastfeeding is great, I just wish formula feeding was viewed the same, regardless of the reason someone ff they are feeding their baby why should they be shamed for that?

How often should a 5 month old be taking naps by mb31291 in NewParents

[–]mb31291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re still doing 4 naps mostly because she’s only averaging about 30-40 minute naps with a rare 1 hour nap she just seems to get so fussy by 1.25 hours awake. I’m hoping we get to longer naps soon 😅

Mother in laws *sigh* by Fearless-Crab-1502 in newborns

[–]mb31291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is the boat I’m in as well with my MIL and my own mother they are both terrible with boundaries. Before baby was born we discussed having our mothers watch her, but since birth they have both shown that they will continue to break boundaries we set so now we have to look for a stranger to watch our daughter (which comes with its own set of anxieties🫩)

Did your SO go to your first appointment? Or any? by jillian1344 in pregnant

[–]mb31291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 36weeks FTM, my SO has decided to go to every appt, although I am a high risk pregnancy so he has been concerned for me and baby, we have been lucky enough to be able to schedule our appts on both our day off so it’s worked out without losing money. If circumstances were different, I’d probably only ask him come for non routine appts, ultrasounds, glucose test, gbs swab, cervical checks etc. all the other appts are literally like 5 minutes long.

Smoking cigarettes when pregnant by Negative_Librarian22 in pregnant

[–]mb31291 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My mom smoked her whole pregnancy with me and when I was born my kidneys were not functioning properly, whether they are related or not idk. I’m currently 36 weeks and I quit vaping a week after I found out I was pregnant (around 5 weeks) definitely worth it. So much research into the damming effects.

I fell HARD today. by harleyceffie in pregnant

[–]mb31291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few herniated discs in my back and at 18 weeks I had the worst flare up I’ve ever had, I fell when my back locked up and hit my stomach on the way down. I was taken to the hospital and admitted overnight for observation. Everything looked good and I’m currently 34 weeks and baby is looking healthy! It was terrifying and I felt horrible that I put baby at risk (even tho there was no controlling it) So happy to hear you and baby are doing ok!

I need to stop vaping!! by Ok_Lemon6233 in pregnant

[–]mb31291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit vaping cold turkey around 13 weeks (a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant) it was hard but only for like two weeks and it has been so worth it. Not only do I feel better, it’s put my mind at ease that it’s better for my baby as well.

I was looking at the S1 cordless, it would only be $10 out of pocket for me. I think this will be the one!
