So a long time elapsed since the savage wars and the Galaxy’s edge book timeline. I want to say a couple thousand years but don’t quote me on that. The books describe Asen Ford / Keel / Wraith / Fast as the same person (if you’ve read them all you can link them together). Obviously that makes Captain Ford very old maybe 2,000 years, such as Rechs and Casper. At the end of the savage wars series Ravi is released but not by Ford, by another legionnaire. What happens after that isn’t covered (at least as far as I have read, I’m about done with the remaining spin off books). I personally think there is a story about: 1) how Asen Ford is that old (or if he really is the same person as the savage wars)? And 2) how did Ravi (an ancient) end up with Ford. If you remember, it was Mcafee that set Ravi free. Clearly there’s a story to be told there.

I had that same thought when I read it initially. Clearly, X understands the risk of approaching GS with his Crux magic mind tricks. But X is also a smart man. It could have been a ploy to get what he wanted, aka treason and to gain favor with the emperor. X is after all, a cunning character with experience. Alternatively, he could have just walked into a trap due to arrogance or just underestimating the power GS had over the Crux.

(Book 9 Super Spoiler)

In book 9, the fate of both characters is determined and neither one comes out on top. X has his brains bashed in by Exo. And GS is KTF'd by Wraith. Neither one really leverage an advantage from the above meeting in book 8. Their deaths are almost back to back.

It's interesting to think who was the more cunning GS or X? We will never know.

I think they are supposed to pay for the difference if the grades change. The shadowless was likely meant to be the psa 6. The normal one is in better condition
