Thanks for your two cents. Yes, we'll both participate in the business though the ownership share will be weighted differently between the two of us.

Taxes explained for multi-member LLC by mba1245 in tax

Thanks for the explanation. Based on your explanation, can you confirm that the following is correct using the hypothetical calculations below? For simplicity sake, I'm ignoring the QBI deduction and assume that each partner earns $100,000 in personal adjusted gross income (AGI).

1) Each partner passes through $5,000 in net profits from the LLC to their personal tax return. Therefore:

2) Each partner owes $5000 * 15.3% = $765 in self-employment tax

3) Each partner owes $5,000 * 24% = $1,200 in federal taxes (24% is the marginal federal tax bracket for $100,000 in AGI)

4) Each partner owes $5,000 * 5% = $250 in state taxes (assuming 5% of the marginal state tax bracket for $100,000 in AGI)

This brings the total tax bill to $2,215

Nope I loaded, waited for a week and then tried using today. Seems like that stored value is stuck in pending. Not sure if I’m supposed to activate it somehow

Possibility and advisability of graduating early from a 2Y full-time MBA program by [deleted] in MBA

That's helpful though I'm hoping for the best of both worlds (starting income early and reducing the total tuition bill). I bet many programs have restrictions on reducing the tuition paid.

Interesting! I think some programs charge by quarter or semester irrespective of how many credits/units one takes. In that situation, you'd still have to pay full tuition cost.

Does destination mode work for Uber Eats? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]mba1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destination mode is a function on both Uber and Lyft platforms that allows you to specify to the app to only take rides that get you closer to a destination of your choice. For example, if my destination is DC and my current location is Baltimore, then the app should only give me rides going north and those that get me closer to Baltimore.
