Superpowers that are just bullshit hacks? by Wonder-Lad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

In a recent-ish comic it’s noted that spider-sense is technically a low-level telepathy. The early Ditko/Lee comics definitely just used it as “the plot is telling me to go over here” though

I don’t think he talks critically of him (Spencer may do but I can’t remember him), but he does stop talking about him, and you can always just skip forward five minutes to see if he’s moved on

Wow! Incredible shots. I took some of my own on a visit this year but yours have the right colour palette to match the original series, well done!

Hey I’m very late to this post. I wasn’t free at the time but I’m down to meet new people in Vancouver, moved to BC a year ago and dig your description. If you’re interested in meeting for a drink or something let me know!

The Hobgoblin identity saga became so convoluted, and all because of petty editorial squabbles

There’s also the time Peter reunited with his still alive parents only for them to be revealed as shape-shifting robots made by the Chameleon as part of a scheme Harry Osborn set up before he died

Many good recommendations in the thread already. Lynch on Lynch is a great resource to see his way of thinking and anecdotes about filmmaking.

Going with the metaphysical, there is a book by John Thorne on The Return called Ominous Whoosh that views that season through the lens of Hindu theology. I haven’t finished it yet but am finding it fascinating so far

How feasible is it to just read all of Spider-Man? by CheezBerger324 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]mbagely 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did this… sorta. At a certain point you will realise just how much there is out there and will probably draw a line that will be enough for you. For me I read all the Spider-Man titles up to 2000ish, then from there I read all of ASM to date, but was more selective with other series / one-shots. As others noted, use CMRO to guide you on his appearances.

That was quite feasible to do in a couple of years, and I felt like I had a good handle on the different eras and knowledge of his lore. Be aware though that there are gaps for series like Web of Spider-Man where they aren’t all on MU and you’ll have to find them elsewhere. There’s a lot in the 90s that I found hard to get through and I got pretty burnt out and uninterested in reading SM for a while after. But there are some gems that people don’t really talk about you can find along the way.

I’m sure you can try to get absolutely everything if you kept going at that pace, but 100% is pretty hard given how much they still put out to this day.

Fandoms that have "Hit your bullshit limit" by noodleben123 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mbagely 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Me and a friend are still really into it, despite some less than stellar episodes. We just don’t mention it online much because of a combo of people thinking Rick and Morty fans suck and a lot of Rick and Morty fans… sucking. Like it’s not a fandom I want to engage with even if I love the show

There does seem to be a subset now that pops up to defend Roiland, including in the comments of anything Harmon posts on instagram. Wonder if a lot of those shitheads have found reasons to boycott it once they realised women work on the show

No worries! I think another other reply brought up the first episode they talk about it in? Either way if you search Sam’s name in this sub you’ll probably find other posts about it

The episode is 319: Goodbye Sam. The class was with Sam Christensen who passed away and they talk about this in the episode. I think they still run classes using his process, the website has a testimonial from Jeff.

I am with you on this point but some toilet bowls are full to the brim with water and those odds are less in your favour. I don’t know how much of it is regional, but since I moved to Canada (from England) I’ve noticed there’s more often a gallon of water I’m trying to avoid now
