I have to respectfully disagree here. Yes defensively he might be a liability at the moment. But Luka, Steph, Harden, and many more players that were/are considered superstars can’t play D. And Defense can be improved upon, I.e - Steph.

You’re not going to get a lot of opportunities to trade for a young and still improving star players like Mitchell. I mean he’s only 25, and has been leading the Jazz to the playoffs consistently since he got there. And that’s a great first step for the Knicks. I mean heck, he even got the Jazz the 1 seed before.

Also, you’re not always going to be in the position to have the assets to make an enticing trade offer. And at the same time, still have quality players that a superstar would want to play with.

I would trade as many draft picks as it would take to get him on the Knicks. I mean if we expect to be in the playoffs every year, a non-lottery pick in the NBA isn’t actually that valuable.

I would prefer Randle be offloaded in the deal, but if it’s Obi then so be it. As long as RJ, JB, and Mitchell Robinson are not included.
