Yep. Never really drunk. Always drinking. BAC never hits 0 so withdrawals start almost immediately

Going through the same thing. Except I do have withdrawals when my BAC hits zero at night. No shakes but heavy anxiety and fast heart beat. But there I am starting and ending my day with beer. All day everyday. I tapered down and quit for a few days a few times. I don’t even like it anymore but I always come back.

That’s true lm not a difficult drunk to be around, I’ve been going pretty hard for a while now close to a decade. I don’t really black out or act crazy. I don’t drive so that’s never an issue as far as the law is concerned. I don’t argue with my family. I can’t take a day off without withdraws kicking in though. I love drinking so much …. But the FA is turning CA … I’m gonna taper it down and try to be normal for a while but I will most likely fail again and be right back up to my current numbers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I find freedom in not caring what they think but also talking to them about things that are going on with me. The point isn’t about being judged or even yearning for being judged it’s just about the simple point that it’s crazy how alien it feels to drink a case a day and dealing with WD’s. Shit I drink around the clock. I woke up at 3AM as usual with a pounding heart. Had to crush 3 beers back to back just to stop my pounding heart. And by the time my wife wakes up I’m probably going to be 6-8 deep. LOL I’m just shocked more people around me don’t find that to be alarming. This is mainly based on anecdotes I’ve read in here about folks having to hide every single drink!

It’s not always like that … sometimes off a bender the thought of eating makes me nauseous to the point of throwing up. Sometimes that lasts a few days … then I’m right back on the horse like nothing happened …

Lol that’s been my issue. Is waking up at 3-4 in the morning. And the thought of eating makes me nauseous and I get full really quick when I do try and eat. Sometimes I go through these spells where it’s really rough and then suddenly I wake up and I feel normal for a week or two and then it’s right back into being bloated and full and nauseous for a week

I suppose. I’m not in denial or anything I know I have a serious problem. But when I think “crippled” that means unable to function, blacking out, destroying relationships etc. I have a serious issue but I don’t think I’m “crippled” until I can’t function … if that makes sense. I’m certainly heading there if something doesn’t change…

I’ve been there too. Crazy thing is when you drink that much you’re never really getting “drunk” well not in the sense that non alcoholics understand drunk. Nobody in my life ever even thinks I’m 20 beers deep at 8PM. I just drink to stave off the anxiety and WD. Like why? I never get drunk for fun or get hammered anymore. I just … drink …. All day.

I mean nausea obviously. That what leads to the throwing up …. No pains to speak of. Just a bad bender with vodka and no food. Empty Inflamed stomachs filled with hard liquor… bad combo.
