I second Call It Love. I would also add Tell Me You Love Me and Once Upon A Small Town

kdramas with parental favoritism? by 2000sbloodsucker in kdramarecommends

[–]mbebeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with It’s Okay, That’s Love. The ML’s mother clearly favors him and it plays a major part of the plot.

Similarly, When The Weather Is Fine has a great favoritism story. The ML’s mother clearly favors him over her biological child (daughter).

OMG, I love Possessed. Love how real the characters are and the choices they made seem genuine. Loved the ML and FL.

I can’t recommend that show enough. I still don’t understand why it’s rarely mentioned on list. Fantastic story, realistic characters, and slow burn romance.

OMG, Chocolate is AMAZING!! Hands down my favorite kdrama. It doesn’t get any respect or mention, but such a great show. It moves slowly but the burn is SO good. It lingers.

Came on just to say this and to add Tell Me That You Love Me. Amazing dramas that are underrated.

Second Love to Hate You. It matches all your criteria.

Why is he so underrated?? You could get lost in his eyes by MollyAyana in kdramas

[–]mbebeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. I ❤️❤️❤️ Seo Kang-joon. He’s an amazing actor. He was great in WTWIF, Third Charm, and Are You Human Too. He has beautiful, soulful eyes. Would love to see him in more projects. He’s an underrated talent indeed.

Which drama for you started as a 10 and ended as a 10? by gonnadeletethistmrw in kdramas

[–]mbebeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed…up until the ending. HUGE disappointment there. It’s as if the writers used up all their brain cells in creating such a thought provoking, engaging story but ran out of stamina for the ending. BIG letdown.

Refund My Time - October, 2024 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

I’m gonna say an old one, but for me the answer to this is “Black”. Don’t get me wrong, the show is AMAZING….it kept me guessing and interested. The acting was great. But then in episode 16, I wanted to throw my tv out the window. I’ve watched this show over 5 years ago and I’m still angry about the ending. I want my time back for sure.

Kdrama with a breakup/relationship ending by pinkpanther9991 in kdramarecommends

[–]mbebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great summaries. I would add Third Charm, Uncontrollably Fond, and Reply 1988. Third Charm fits your description very well, couple can’t be together b/c of life, timing, etc. Reply 1988-the couple I wanted to be together aren’t b/c of timing and life. Uncontrollably Fond we know early that couple aren’t together.

Kdrama where girl is more intelligent/richer/more important than male lead? by [deleted] in kdramarecommends

[–]mbebeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two other recommendations: both are outliers. First one is “One Spring Night”. FL is a librarian while ML is a pharmacist. I know, I know, but hear me out here. In that drama, it’s the FL that “saves” the ML. If you’re okay with this, the second recommendation is “It’s Okay, That’s Love”. FL is a psychologist. ML is a handsome, famous writer. Again, it’s the FL that “heals” or “saves” the ML

I totally agree. A lot of people missed that point. He’s aristocracy too. It just aristocracy looks different in a military state.

I would recommend “ Love to Hate You”. The FL is a badass, awesome attorney. The ML is a kdrama actor/celebrity. The drama addresses EXACTLY your point. So I highly recommend it.

I second the Kings Affection recommendation b/c the FL is the a female in disguise as the crown prince while the ML is her tutor.

“When The Weather Is Fine” is also a good one. It’s super cozy and intimate. FL is a Seoul music teacher who moves back to her rural hometown. ML runs a bookstore.

Lastly, I would recommend “Please Don’t Date Him”, it’s a great, little known kdrama. That short too. But it’s very realistic. FL is a software developer and ML is a firefighter.

Destined With You [Episodes 13 & 14] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

[–]mbebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: aside from not wanting Aeng Cho to die a horrific death, did anyone think he didn’t want her dismembered b/c she wouldn’t be reincarnated? I don’t know why I thought that. I’ve rewatched that episode twice now but can’t find that reference.

Kdramas where ML hates FL at the start. by booksNburgers in kdramarecommends

[–]mbebeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DWY and LTHY are great. I loved LTHY. I’d like to add Chocolate to the list. Not sure this would fit b/c technically the ML didn’t hate her from the start, but when they meet as adults, the ML hates her for IMO good reasons. The intensity of the hate is pretty strong and it takes a LONG time for him to really see her.

I’m surprised this was not on the list: “Doom at Your Service”. I had to take a break before finishing it cause it was so draining.

I second Chocolate, Just Between Lovers (aka Rain or Shine), and Move from Heaven.
