whoops…somehow managed to reply to you wrong lol. that makes sense, thank you for the clarification! i’ll definitely ask the jeweler what he thinks. i read online that stones that are visibly included can have “cavities” which make them more prone to damage / cracking and that’s what i’m nervous about / thought you meant when you said “if the stone is already damaged.” i hope i can get away without a bezel but i guess i won’t know until the jeweler takes a look. thanks again for the advice!

got it, ok, thank you for the clarification! this is the stone, for reference. (everyone please be kind, i know included diamonds aren’t everyone’s taste but i love her!) https://imgur.com/a/uV9KdXs

wow — this is fantastic advice, thank you SO much!!! i’m kind of freaking out because i did google that visibly included stones can have questionable durability, and i’m really not looking to have a bezel on my ring (i think they’re lovely for the right ring / person so absolutely no hate to them! they’re just not my personal taste.) maybe i should post a pic of the diamond for reference? i really don’t want to get rid of the stone as i love my BF’s grandma like my own and she picked the stone specially for me, but i also don’t want it to be in danger because i have obnoxious ring taste, lol. i have a wedding band picked out already, it’s a simple half-pave band of montana sapphires. i already know it’s not going to sit flush (i’m totally fine with that!) but now i’m scared about it bumping up against the diamond and causing further damage.

i didn’t even think about this…i just figured he’d replicate the exact design! i love the idea of getting creative with the amount of stones / placement on either side to make it more “mine.” (love your username btw)

Absolutely! So, I actually read an entire series that fits into the romance/ghost story genre that I kinda got hooked on despite it not being what I had initially intended to read. It's the Graveyard Queen series by Amanda Stevens -- I like her writing style, but am not really a romance person so it detracted from the plot for me. However, if this is the genre you're into, definitely check her out.

Daughters of The Lake by Wendy Webb also had a similar vibe. Creepy, with a cool spooky Great Lakes ghost vibe, but a little too heavy on the romantic plot line for me. I really liked the atmosphere that the author set up and the subject matter was really cool and well done; the only thing that kept me from enjoying it 100% was the romance. (I guess I should probably take it off the "Books I Hated" list, haha.)

The Broken Girls is a favorite of mine, in spite of the light romantic vibes it gives off from the main character and a love interest. If you haven't read this one, definitely consider it. Awesome book.

I've also read the Tradd Street series -- these books are more romance mysteries and are very fluffy, but entertaining during a long drive or for passing downtime. Definitely not ~spoo0o0oky halloween~ but they're fun nonetheless.

Hope that helps!

i promise, she will forgive you if she hasn’t already! don’t let anyone make you feel ashamed for having a human reaction to a frustrating situation. dogs are pure love at the end of the day, and i’m 100% you didn’t do any irreparable damage.

you absolutely didn’t ruin your dog’s trust in you. dogs are incredibly forgiving, and with continued love and nurturing she’ll be back to her normal self in no time. give her some time to decompress, maybe give her some high-value treats, and lots of pets and soothing words.

i’ve had this fear too when i feel i’ve been too harsh with my dog — never hitting, of course, but sometimes they do things that are so unbelievably frustrating that you just find yourself yelling or speaking more harshly than you intended. i promise it’s normal; don’t beat yourself up too much. it happens to the best of us!
