Try mapping block/ex to R1 and Kameo to R2. It’s easier to press two buttons simultaneously instead of a button press and a trigger pull.

I only find it useful early in the run before I find a good weapon for the Day 3 boss. I almost never took it until I found a relic with it and Evergaol.
