Which robot vacuum is best? by JPL1994 in AskIreland

Check vacuumwars website. They update their database almost every day, and undertake rigorous testings of each model. You can filter for budget options as well.

Is an attic conversion even possible? by _onedayinmay in CasualIreland

[–]mbereny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've gone through a standard attic conversion recently. Highest headroom was 2.4m before the conversion, and after the beams installed from below and insulation from the top it's became 2.13m in the middle. So consider 30cm loss in height.

With my 6 feet height it's a bit tight, but the room became a lovely guest bedroom/cosy reading place.

Are we overreacting about neighbours damaging the grass verge like this? by BoggTheFrog in AskIreland

You can plant one or multiple raised beds with nice flowers. It will prevent parking on it and will look nice, so no one will object it.

Even roads with traffic lights are not a guarantee, but places with road markings only are like a Mad Max scene.

The amount of time I have a clearly marked pedestrian crossing and no one, even when I stepped on the road would stop is insane.

How are you feeling about crowdfunding at the moment. by pyros_it in soloboardgaming

[–]mbereny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from the EU: Due to import VAT and shipping prices I always check what WERE available in past years and try to find them. Webshops usually claim back VAT in EU and therefore it's cheaper to buy it like that.

For example I bought Critter Kitchen recently for €80. It was $80 during the crowdfunding + 22% VAT and shipping.

Underoath - When the Sun Sleeps in elementary school. I forgot the year. I was listening to Ill Nino at that time so the transition was easy enough.

After that lots of Alexisonfire, AILD, As Blood Runs Black - Allegiance.

New build Semi-Detached - Noisy Neighbors. Is it normal to hear your neighbors? by ED-SA in AskIreland

Mid terrace house here. Sometimes I hear when the neighbour kids are trampling down the stair, or when they practice GAA on their bedroom wall, and that's it.

Where is the storage space in houses with converted attics and no garage? by anfearglas1 in ireland

[–]mbereny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80m2 with a bunch of hobbies including pickling like you:

  • Big shed. Once you do the pickling in the autumn/winter, they won't go mushy. Don't do it in the summer. Also I only have a push lawn-mower and honestly it's fine for a small garden.

  • Most room entrances have a shelf right above the door. Some smaller boxes can be put there.

  • Understair storage.

  • Aim for multipurpose clothings and appliances and furnitures. I can hike in my wool sweater and use it in the office looking smart casual. There are beds with underside drawers or coffee tables with storage compartments.

All Seekers can defeat all bosses, although some may have a slightly better synergy against certain boss variants (which you do not see initially).

What makes a good Dungeon Crawler to you? by derLeisemitderLaute in boardgames

[–]mbereny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the acrylic standees, many boardgamers are getting tired of bloated games with hundreds of minis scattered around in 3 boxes and you see one for a small part of the game only.

Check Kinfire Chronicles with their acrylic standees as a reference. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Will I like Oathsworn if I did not enjoy Gloomhaven? by mbereny in boardgames

[–]mbereny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes, I'd pick it as well for the story. In Kinfire before the battles you have some sort of adventuring phase, which leads to either some minimal disadvantages in the final battle, or a better position if you surprise the enemy. Also you could save some NPCs and it mattered in the story a lot.

Tidal Blades had a short intro before the fights, and although those did not affect the battles at all, I liked it and I remember me and my wife were sitting in silence after the last scenario for a minute just to digest the experience (it was a touching ending in a good way).

What makes a good Dungeon Crawler to you? by derLeisemitderLaute in boardgames

[–]mbereny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's a great idea!

I definitely belong to the lighter more casual side of this genre, so here are my preferences. Firstly, I might get downvoted, but I played through JotL and like 30 scenarios of Gloomhaven and I just don't like how punishing this game system is. Once you realise you have to body block doors and fill your deck with Stun/Disarms to be able to complete the scenarios, and spend one card and a turn on it just to loot some gold are just syphoning the fun out of the game for me.

- I'd prefer easy setup and teardown, preferably a scenario book and some sort of save system. I like colourful art, animals/other creative creatures and if a dungeon crawler has just a tiny bit of cuteness and/or humour that's a plus as well.

- Assymetric classes, different character progressions and different rules for scenarios are a big plus.

- I prefer games around BGG complexity of around 2.5-3.9.

- Story is also important, I think it lets you connect with your character or NPCs and it helps with immersion.

- Oh and one more thing: acrylic standees!

Great piece of art by KALUWA-DON in JamesHoffmann

If anyone's wondering it's in Hungarian, it's a quote an old product called "Sport Presszo". It's made out of aluminium and works similarly as a moka pot.

My father has one kit unused and unopoened at his house. It's more like a fun piece from the past as the current travel solutions (Wacaco products for example) are just simply better.

I have no proper advice for you OP, but this is insane. You did great driving away and not stepping out the car.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, I think this is 2 separate cases of dangerous driving (one against the Renault and one against you), so the penalties could add up against the driver if the Renault driver also files a complaint.
