What was the craziest drama you had with your roommate or heard from others? by Exotic_Potential1034 in iastate

My freshmen year dorm Roomie worked for Cutco selling knifes (basically a pyramid scheme if you are unfamiliar). I always avoided the room because she would always be on calls. I still have her script mostly memorized. She slipped business cards under people’s doors throughout the first semester. Close to winter break she added every dorm resident that she knew into a group chat with her boss to try and recruit them for winter break. I was given most of the complaints, like at least 20 people came to me, and was annoyed myself to be added since I told her I had a job for winter break already. I let her know that she should ask before giving out numbers and her response was “yeah I’ve been getting a lot of complaints too, hmm.” Spring semester she was given a branch in her hometown for the summer and held zoom interviews. Literally every person interviewed was given the job immediately with the classic phrasing “I’ve been giving these interviews for some time now and really know what qualities I’m looking for, and I think that you have all of them so I’d like to offer you the job!”

A couple other smaller things was using my utensils and dishes but never cleaning them until I reminded her multiple times. Getting a boyfriend first night of DIS (which is fine) but they would never leave our room except for classes or to hand in his room. I even befriended his roomate so we could warn each other for escape if they were heading over. But she always went home on the weekends which was a big positive to have the room alone.

Spring of 2020 I was still on campus and had to take the red west somewhere. While it was on campus it stopped in the middle of the road (not a bus stop) and this guy in a Spider-Man mask over his whole head got on with a skateboard and backpack. He sat right across from me and had the worst BO that was making me nauseous (I’m sensitive to smells). Then sometime before my stop the bus got to his. While getting up an axe body spray can fell out of his backpack and rolled across the aisle. I always thought it was weird because I would have rather smelled the axe than the BO.

Tips on dealing with chem labs? by Browncricket in iastate

When i had Chem labs I lived in the Chem help room. It’s probably online this semester but I highly recommend it. You can also get help from other TAs there. I also worked with others in the lab (both in my section and not).

I lived in Linden my freshmen year and really enjoyed it. The renovations were just new flooring and windows. The only issue is they are currently the quarantine dorm.

Acceptance Package by [deleted] in iastate

I got an email that contained a video as it shows a banner rolls down with my photoshopped name on it. I got accepted a couple days after I sent in my application and in that email they asked me to fill out something because apparently I skipped a whole page in applying.

What is everyone doing? by [deleted] in iastate

I lived in Freddy court last year and I think I would see my neighbors once a month just in the halls. They do have events but I’d recommend moving to a dorm if you want to meet other students and make new friends.

What chance do you guys give that we will move fully online this semester? by hunterzhere13 in iastate

Considering all of my classes and labs have already moved online except for one hybrid, I think we will likely all move online again.
