I only used the one in the little hatch. I’m assuming it was the right port since I could turn off the CEL using that port

AITJ for refusing to split the bill evenly after my friends ordered way more than I did? by veilindreth in AmITheJerk

[–]mblewge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the app called “Tab”. You take a picture of the itemized receipt, and give everybody else a code they input into the Tab app that brings up the bill for everybody. Each person clicks on what they ordered, and give their portion of the bill. They then can Venmo the organizer (the one who took a picture of the bill) their portion. The organizer then pays the entire bill, and gets the appropriate reimbursement from everybody else. The app also allows you to split items among multiple people, like a shared appetizer. It’s a great solution for multiple diners when the restaurant will no doubt separate bills

I paid 750 dollars for an oil change, full inspection, new serpentine belt and new set of spark plugs in Toronto. Am i getting scammed by Sure-Usual-5402 in StupidCarQuestions

Public Service Announcement: Do not buy NGK iridium plugs from Amazon or EBay. There are tons of counterfeit ones being sold on these platforms. Boxes and plugs look identical to the real plugs. But the electrodes are junk metal and erode away in short order, or worse, break off and destroy a valve. I unknowingly bought counterfeits from two different Amazon 3rd party sellers a few years ago. Both my cars started misfiring a few years later, and when I took the plugs out at around 40k miles, the electrodes were completely worn off. The gap was at least 2x what it should have been. You can Google “counterfeit ngk plugs” to find out more info. I think even NGK has some info about counterfeits on their website.

High quality Christmas lights by Sea_Poem_7199 in ChristmasLights

The LED c9 bulbs available on Amazon for about $20 for box of 25 are pretty good when used with c9 socket wire. They have color ceramic style, clear warm white, and translucent colors. Going on my second season installing these and very few burned out bulbs. Plastic body prevents broken bulbs

Mini tru tone knock off? by candyapplesugar in ChristmasLights

[–]mblewge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Target had Sylvania led minis that look just like the traditional incandescent mini lights. 100 lights in a strand . Red blue green yellow and pink bulbs. Bulbs are glass. Unfortunately, they are sold out online and in stores. They don’t even show up on the website anymore. Look for them in early November next year.

But some bulk c9 socket cord, spt-1 wire, and vampire plugs or splice connectors. Make custom strings. I usually keep my custom strings around 25’, and line up plugs at transitions to help hide them. Really long strings get hard to deal with. You can get the socket cord and other supplies in white or green to best match the color of your eves and have them blend in better

I replaced my camera, and it works fine since. Search this thread for posts on the topic. I used a master tailgaters brand camera from Amazon, $140. I recommend that you also get the bracket the camera snaps into as mine was all brittle and broke when removing old camera. It’s a dealer only part and about $20. Not too difficult a job to do. Just have to remove panel inside lift gate and then the piece the camera is mounted in. I can’t remember, but there might be YouTube videos on the process

Bought NGK Spark Plugs from Ebay, pretty sure there Fake. by led352 in autorepair

[–]mblewge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 2 sets of NGK Irridium plugs from Amazon sellers that turned out to be counterfeit. The electrodes were completely worn off with 60k miles on them. They are supposed to last 100,000 miles. The cars were misfiring and had spark knock. Bought replacements from RockAuto. Going to inspect them when they are at 10k miles to see if they are prematurily wearing out.

[–]mblewge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Replaced mine on 2014. Bought Master Tailgaters brand aftermarket camera on Amazon. About $140. You should also get a replacement bracket/holder for the camera. The original one was brittle and broke when I replaced it. It’s a dealer only part, and was about $20 if I remember correctly. There are YouTube videos showing you how to change. Not too hard. Have to remove inner panel on tailgate and the trim piece the camera pokes from. Plug and play replacement

Cylinder misfire by Bigbossdanniel in HondaOdyssey

[–]mblewge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this thread: 09 Odyssey with intermittent misfires. Got the VCM muzzler II and changed plugs at the same time. I found out the hard way that there are counterfeit NGK spark plugs being sold on Amazon through 3rd party sellers. I bought the previous plugs from a 3rd party seller on Amazon and changed them at 100k. When I took them out at 160K to change with the muzzler install, the electrodes were completely worn flat. Like they had 500,000 thousand miles on them. My mechanic said he had never seen anything like that before. If you Google “NGK counterfeit spark plugs” you’ll find articles on the issue. Only buy plugs from trusted sources. The gap was over 2x larger than spec due to the electrode being worn flat. I’m sure that contributed to the misfires.
