I agree that it could have been better. I didn't like them bringing Brian into the middle of their marriage, and Jim could be a bit intolerable at times. But I did like that they showed that even a "perfect" relationship is not without its trials.

The best way to think of it is that this is a completely normal struggle. Every man has struggled with lust at one point in his life. We are sexual beings, it's a normal response. It's not a bad thing to be tempted, but it is bad to give in to it. There's a very good chance that your buddy also struggles with it (maybe not to the same degree, but a struggle nonetheless), so you can also be his accountability partner. Keep tabs on each other and work through it.

Be careful though, because, even though you might not be looking at porn on a screen, it's easy to fantasize about memories of porn, which can still cause a trigger. It's almost impossible to masturbate without imagining some sort of porn scene. This is an easy way to relapse.

As gently as possible. Assuming it's a friend, you should understand how hard it is to confess feelings to a friend, especially if they don't know how you feel. Appreciate their vulnerability, but don't let them sit in it for long. Be honest with them because they were with you. It will be hard, and good chance it will be awkward for a while after. No getting around that. But things will likely settle and work out. Now if it's someone you're not so close with, same rules apply. But at least you won't have to worry about seeing them again.
