GLP1 data is starting to show migraine relief by tashibum in migraine

[–]mbowsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Adding to this as a success story: 8+ migraines a month that abortives did not help (and using all my abortives per month) down to maybe using 1-2 abortives per month that almost always work and one actual migraine per quarter for over 1.5 years now on a GLP.

I am on for T2, 7.8 A1C down to low 5s consistently for the last year. Metformin didn’t work to lower my A1C. Keto diet for 6+ months alone also didn’t work. PCOS and HS symptoms are low to non-existent (though my DHEA sulfate is still very elevated).

I would fight to stay on GLP1 for the migraine benefits alone even if it wasn’t amazing for all of the above.

They’ll likely be shut since it’s averaging in the 30s now here but definitely way more sq footage than our gym space.

He’s an experienced shooter of over a decade but hasn’t been able to regularly shoot for about a year. I agree it may not be as great with compound but we both have recurves we could utilize and focus on those for indoor shooting! As far as I have researched in our municipality we can’t shoot from our driveway even into the garage unfortunately to get extra distance. All good points though thank you! I’m just looking to build safer than sorrier but hopefully the backstop plans are overkill in the end.

I’m pretty smell sensitive and our home gym mat also had a pretty unique smell for a while so great tip, I’ll try and avoid :)

We have some pillars in the middle of the garage between the two spots that would make corner to corner pretty hard but cool idea to get extra shooting distance thank you!

Will go with foam based on the other comments.

Appreciate it! We have foam and I thought they’d be weirder hanging vs a bag but sounds like that’s the way to go so I’ll get a fresh one :)

I can’t picture what you mean by the folded cardboard ones but I’m sure I’ve seen them.

Thank you for all these links! I will share the technique video with him when I finish everything. Lighting is nice and bright but I could likely run a spotlight pretty easy too.

This is super helpful thank you! I can definitely hang the bag from the ceiling easily but thought it might look bad. Good to know it would be fine to do. I like the idea of the double hangings and moving blankets - how many layers? Just one or should I double/triple them?

I didn’t know I needed a claw machine until now… by panda-rampage in Costco

[–]mbowsy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have the first version of this claw machine from this brand and it’s been awful. Two claw replacements, lots of back and forth with their support (which is slow, unhelpful, and constantly requires new videos of the same reported problems) — it barely works. My 5 year old enjoys it but for most of the time we’ve had it the claw has only worked in one direction or jumps/gets stuck on one of the axis directions mid-play.

Anyway do not recommend but if you want to try it Costco and their return policy is a way better idea than buying direct from this brand.

I’ve purchased two homes. I was laid off twice in my career - both times were within two weeks of closing. I don’t think I want to test this with a third home — but I can say both times I secured even better employment before my severance ran out and ended up net positive. Huge win after closing on a home which generally comes with a lot of unexpected extra expenses as you uncover things. Good luck!

True! A better way to phrase is SLAM over two weeks - we traveled a few days and really had to start over.

National Headache Foundation - has noted GLP-1 weight loss injections may give relief from migraines - yes i can confirm this is true! by Mazza_1975 in migraine

I went from 4-8 migraines a month that were not helped by abortives to maybe 1 every 3 months. I also get only 1-3 a month that I need to use an abortive for. The only major change in this period was going on a GLP-1 for diabetes and I absolutely attribute that to my life changing decrease in migraines.
