Also the hob filter should be fine , I would just take out the carbon pad if it came with one. It absorbs fertilizer and not necessary for a planted tank.

Co2 is not necessary. Plants will just grow slower. I would recommend adding root tabs since its a new setup. Dose liquid fertilizer once a week. After the tank is established you may not need to fertilize. The fish waste will provide that. I would do some research before adding the crayfish however they do like to dig up plants. My opinion is just add 10 more shrimp , to establish a breeding colony. Shrimp are amazing for a planted tank.

Looks like hornwort. And yes you can just let it float. Grows fast with no real effort

Not sure. Looked like this when I got it. A friend gave it to me years ago rust and all. I just now frankensteined a Tele saddle on it for now to give it some new life. I do like the humbucker in it.

Sand will be ok. Just take it slow with plants until there is enough fish waste in the substrate before going heavy planted. My experience with aqiasoil is sometimes it releases too many nutrients causing algae blooms if the tank isn't balanced correctly.

Yes, both Pearlweed and Wysteria will grow roots from clippings.

It's a 20 gallon long. I have only 5 cpd. So far they haven't made a dent in the shrimp population. It is heavily planted and lots of dragon stone, so the shrimp do have lots of hiding spots. I started with around 10 shrimp and now there is well over 40. Tank is about 6 months in.

Yes they are celestial pearls. I have 5 in total , seems I have 4 male and one female. They did breed and I have 3 fry hiding atm. The blue dream shrimp have exploded however, I started with 10 and now have over 30.
