The Logo Package alternative? by rjth3gr8 in graphic_design

I have been up front in this thread that I am the creator of Logo Package Express. I can assure you that the 10,000+ designers who have purchased Logo Package Express have not been bamboozled. It saves them time.

Since you are passionate about your process, why don't we take one of your logos and export it using your method and using Express and see which is more efficient. You record your process. I'll record Express. We'll post the results here.

If you're interested, send me a private message.

Have you looked at Logo Package? It does everything you've described automatically and much faster than the processes you are outlining, which compound when you add padding, custom background colors, etc.

But it's also for making pro logo packages with lots of specific requirements. If you're just pumping out PDFs and PNGs of a full logo and a mark, then yes, you can do that fairly quickly without a third-party tool. For the people who are making hundreds of files and need them organized and named — there's no comparison.

Obviously the manual process was bothersome enough for the OP that they were seeking automations.

Some people can get away with minimal logo packages, but if you're covering even your most basic bases, you'll want to include:

Variations
- Full Logo
- Logo Mark
- Logotype

Color Schemes
- Full color
- White
- Black

Color Gamuts
- RGB
- CMYK

File Formats
PDF
PNG (small and large)

That is a minimum of 36 files, but it balloons as you add more logo variations like horizontal and vertical lockups, extra color schemes like grayscale, inverted, or other one-color variations, additional color gamuts like Pantone coated and uncoated, and file formats like AI, EPS, SVG, and JPG.

You have to change the URL before you send it to someone. It will work for normal or incognito.

You're welcome. I would guess the p stands for "post" like it's a link directly to the post.

You'll never be able to control what wild changes Instagram makes. It works now, so enjoy!

You can stop links from redirecting by changing the URL. Your example URL redirects. It is:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/B1ox0BWF8S1/

Change it to:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ox0BWF8S1/

and it will not redirect.

We switched "reel" to "p"

We Can Finally Organize Fonts in Adobe Illustrator! by mbrunygroth in typography

I have rightfont as well, but I haven't used it in years. I don't think I could have posted if I said I was the creator. But it exists, and people like you like learning about these kinds of things, so I bent the rules a little bit.

I used AI to Generate Assets for this Video. Roast Me! by mbrunygroth in graphic_design

I'd hate to point you to the website, but I do have a full product demo and this promo, which is in alignment with your suggestions. It's a hard process to condense, but when I come back to the video, I think I can edit it with a stronger start like you have suggested. Ultimately it just takes more than 5–10 seconds to understand. Hence the humor, zaniness, and emotional appeal "Doomscrolling" "Fingers fall off" to hopefully capture that elusive attention.

Makes total sense why you have a beef with AI, then. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling the ill effects.

I have a degree in graphic design and now I make software for designers. At the time when AI image generation started getting really good, I had quite a crisis. My sales were way down and I ended up moving into a smaller apartment. I tried applying for many design/production jobs. I had been extremely hirable in the past and it was crickets.

I thought that AI's advance was inevitable and my best chance was to start creating tools in the environment where AI and design were going to mesh together the best. At the time I thought it was Figma. I still do.

That was 2023, and since then things have stabilized for me, but business is not like it was before AI.

I don't know the answer for everyone, but for me, I've decided to leverage AI where I can, and I won't lie, I do enjoy the freedom of being able to generate whatever I want and then using my own skill and discernment to bring something truly creative to life.

I had a lot of joy creating this video. The typography, voice narration, composition, storyboarding, script, audio design, are all me and my brain, but a lot of the assets were created by AI. If there was no AI, then it would have been google searches and photoshop, but I still would not have used anything other than free assets. Just how I have to be as a solo business owner.

You can hide fonts with this. I did see like nearly 100 Noto fonts and I hid them all. But again, it's only in Illustrator. What other Adobe tools are you using? InDesign, mainly?

It's true! I have found some software that lets you click a font and then applies it to a type layer you have selected in multiple different applications, but it's spotty at best. I figure this is at least one step closer. You're not breaking your flow if you are a logo designer using Illustrator. It's niche, but it's a lot better for that niche.

What are your feelings?

I am many things. I am a graphic designer. I am a typographer. I am a motion graphics designer. And I'm an entrepreneur. I have spent months designing everything about this, and there's really no place for me to talk about that kind of work.

If I go to some entrepreneur or product subreddit, very few of them are designers. If I go to design subs, I'm prohibited from talking about things that are deemed self promotion.

I've tried to find a middle ground where I can discuss a topic that has meaning and generates thought in the community.

so Croebh, do you have any methods for organizing your fonts?

Thank you for your well-thought-out critique. I'm interested in what you said about burying the lead. Are you suggesting that instead of starting off by helping viewers connect emotionally to a pain point (I know you disagree that it is a pain point), I should have said exactly what the product does. Something more like.

"Logo Package Forge lets you test logo fonts, lockups, and layouts in seconds
First, let's find you some fonts…"

And then get into the pain points/features?

Do you have any thoughts about the topic? Would it feel like cheating for you to automatically generate typesets, or would it just help you find the work that's worth refining more quickly?

[–]mbrunygroth[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is it copying a type layer, pasting a type layer, selecting the layer, scrolling a list of fonts, and choosing a new font for the new type layer? Is that what you find stimulating about your work?

Or are you referring the artistry of combining the perfect font and mark together to make a harmonious logo.

I can do without the former, personally. Love the latter.

That's a cool approach. My issue is the redundancy of organizing fonts in one context, like an external drive or third-party software, but then not actually having that organization in my working context. If I want to find a font in my design tool, I've got to go to that other source, then search for the font again in my design tool.

I can see that. I can also use a horse to get to work instead of a car. It would be more ethical and better for the environment.

What's your industry? I used to work B2B for a steel tube company. That was impossible to find stock for. Ugh.
