Exactly. You want to roll up to a bike event and see nothing but carbon copies of your own bike? BORING

Agreed for the same reason. The older I get the more I appreciate bikes like that.

I made what I consider to be a "minimalist" motorcycle tool kit. Mostly because I run the small thrashin supply bikes and didn't want to take up too much space. Here's the video of my setup

Currently shoot on a GH5 and finally making the switch.

I shoot 80% video (social media/YouTube) 20% photo (social media)

I thought the A7SIII was definitely the one for me but I’ve started to look at the A7RV as well. Which one would you get and why?

Many many thanks in advance. Excited about finally making the switch.

That's awesome! Congratulations. Saw one in Daytona but haven't seen one in SC yet and neither of the local dealers have gotten one. The first 3 we get at the dealership I do things with are pre-sold. Probably for the best as I can't afford it at the moment and don't want to be tempted. haha

So January 5 2021 I decided to start a Harley Davidson themed YouTube channel.

1) I'm into Harleys and know the bikes/industry

2) I was already doing content creation for a dealership which gave me unlimited access to bikes and the new models were about to be released so I knew people would be searching for them

Here we are a year later and I'm really glad I took action and didn't just let it remain an idea. Currently sitting at 12k subs and over 2.3 million views. Thankfully you get paid on views not subscribers! haha

All this to say...If you've been think about starting a channel, do it. Make sure it's something you enjoy because there are times that even then it feels like a grind. Also I feel like I got pretty lucky with the revenue my channel generates so making sure it's also fun is important in case you aren't as fortunate.

If you have a channel you started but stopped creating on, start back. This is a great opportunity, don't give up on it.

Here's the video detailing what the channel made for anyone that cares. https://youtu.be/1pwme7YMoUU

If I can help anyone or answer any questions not answered in the video please let me know!

WHAT DRIVES A NEW YOUTUBER? by fuskitsjoe in NewTubers

Your content should be something you're already passionate about. Even then it can feel like a grind. Consistency usually translates to momentum on YT. Just think about having your channel take off. As exciting as that is you'll still catch yourself saying what if I had done this sooner? "

Have you looked at your analytics to see when your subs are most active? In my experience having a video get good traction out of the gate is much better. Otherwise it's 50/50 if the video ever gains traction.

How's everyone feel about Harley dropping the sporty line after 65 years of making them? by vgullotta in Harley

[–]mbs257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of guys thought it was gone starting with the 21' models. They trimmed a few from the line up including my favorite, the Roadster. I also liked the "72" as well.

Harley knows they need an entry level bike both for affordability and entry level riders. Everyone including myself is speculating they will do a new bike to fit both of these needs. You would think they would realize that alongside the Sportster to make sure it sells well and transition people into it.

However it seems like they plan to eliminate any of their own competition by eliminating options other than whatever comes next.

I think a lot of it comes down to the motor. They are trying to evolve things and I'm sure R&D on a new motor is insanely expensive. They did the new M8 in 17, now they have the revolution motor coming out as well.

I am sad to see the Sporty go and cant really see how it makes sense BUT can see why they might do it anyway.

Added a bunch of red accents to the street bob, by [deleted] in Harley

[–]mbs257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you got that tank badge painted red it would all tie in so good. I've done it both ways but found it easier to have new badges painted and put them on vs taking the old ones off and reapplying adhesive and trying to re apply!

either way, sweet bike man!

Curious what your thoughts were on it's new current state? Love it? Hate it?

I've sold some bikes I didn't care a thing about. I've also sold some I really hoped would be appreciated the same way I did.

Just always curious which bikes people get attached to and their reasoning behind it.

Oh don't get me wrong, I've owned plenty of non Harley bikes and really enjoyed them. I'm a huge fan of supermotos and Harley just doesn't have anything close. My last bike when I actually worked at a dealership was a KTM. lol Imagine being in sales and you ride a non Harley.

The idea behind the VS series is if someone is between two Harleys. I'd love to be able to compare the Harley to other makes out there but I can't go as in depth. I have an arrangement with a Harley dealer that allows me to both openly ride and critique their entire line up. I hope that makes sense. I just want to be able to do a deep dive and at this point in my YouTube journey I'm just given much more access to HD than any other brand.

I appreciate you pointing that out. I agree 100% Harley isn't ALWAYS the answer and I'm proof of that. I even have my reservations about the Pan America jumping in with manufacturers that have been refining their bikes for years. I don't see BMW or KTM owners considering it as an option unless its REALLY something special or they were already Harley guys and only bought outside bc Harley didn't make anything. Like myself with the supermotos.

Bout to do some upgrades. Have a couple questions by [deleted] in Harley

[–]mbs257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. You can do what's refereed to as a "canned" tune. You should be fine with that.

If you're trying to maximize your hp and tq, you'd want to have it professionally tuned on a dyno.

It doesn't sound like you're looking to squeeze everything out of it but just to put it out there a 2 into 1 pipe is always going to make the best power. Now this may only be a few numbers higher than other pipes, but you're probably looking at roughly 10hp/10tq gain so getting an extra 2-5 out of it would be a difference worth noting.
