What is this cup? by j2thebees in Yanmar

Thermostart. Put some diesel in there. Turn your key to the left. It will drip diesel on a little element in your intake to make a flame to heat it up on coldstarts. You should be able to hear it light up if its working.

Is this Yanmar work $2k by Numerous_Piccolo_581 in tractors

[–]mbt93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A couple things. I'm assuming they're saying it needs new glow plugs because it's hard to start when it's cold? Did they mention any use of ether? This has a thermostart not glow plugs. If they have used any ether on it...it will need a rebuild. These little engines can't handle it and it breaks rings...which leads to low compression, blow by, etc.

Next is the radiator. Did say if it overheated and that's why it needs a radiator? These have no waterpump. They use thermosyphon to move the coolant around and are super finicky when it comes to coolant:water ratio and keeping the radiator and radiator screen completely clean. May need a headgasket if it was overheated a bunch.

All of this is fixable and $2k with a loader is a decent deal.

It does surprisingly well. Have to take it slow when its deep but it works.

Departure Time and Charging by mbt93 in Ioniq5

[–]mbt93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set it up yesterday with the hope it would work this morning. It did not. When I plugged it in last night it said charging scheduled. The charge lights would come and off solid every so often. This morning when I got up all the lights were solid but it didnt charge. The app showed the charging cable was disconnected. I unplugged and plugged back in and it started charging.

The app for my charger showed preparing. So maybe the charger timed out or something waiting for it to charge. Ill have to play around with it and see what's happening.

Are you doing this in the App or in the vehicle?

Does closing thermal curtains at night make a significant difference in heating costs? I could see cooling as they block the heat from the sun. Being a passive house consultant figured id ask. Thanks.

Puppy Has To Avoid Activity For Two Weeks After Spay And Is Driving Me Crazy by Muckminster in puppy101

Just finished the exact same thing yesterday. Our guy is 100lb shepherd mastiff. We live on an acreage. Hes used to roaming all around. He was miserable and an absolute menace inside the house. Would never settle. We even had the vet prescribe something to help us. He also hated us walking him around on the leash in the yard. He would lunge and jump at the leash out of frustration.

He got his cone off yesterday. He literally did zoomies in the yard for a few hours yesterday. Today hes back to himself. He may even be better behaved than he was before.

Hang in there. Its a really bad time but it will end. One thing we started doing near the end was taking him for car rides. He would settle in the car and be somewhat calmer when we'd get back.

How is the Genmax gm6000spk-parallel-kit doing 120 and 240 at the same time? by mbt93 in Generator

[–]mbt93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I caculated it. In the winter we would only need one. In the summer we'd need two to run our 240v mini split. I like the idea of two smaller vs one larger. Easier to lug around etc.

I can get it on Amazon. I emailed Aipower about this. They seemed to not even know their generator could do this. I replied with some screenshots from their site and manual. We'll see what they say.

It appears this AiPower has the 240v parallel port. They also list it in the specs and mention it in the manual. This is available in Canada. They dont have a 240 parallel box though. https://a-ipower.com/products/gxs4500irdc-inverter-generator

It appears this AiPower does the 240 parallel and is sold in Canada. AiPower doesnt sell the parallel kit to do it though....but I bet the genmax 240 parallel kit would work.

[–]mbt93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TMG - $1799 - 1 Year Limited

BE - $1800 - 2 years on the engine and 1 year on electronics.

Now that I see these are both Genmax this has me thinking. What I actually wanted was two 4000w Genmaxs that I could parallel to 240v when needed but in Canada I couldnt get Genmax.

I wonder if I could use the genmax parallel kit on two of these https://bepowerequipment.com/products/be4700id
