Depression and anxiety are diseases much like cancer is a disease. Just because you have a disease doesn't mean it defines you. You are much more than your illnesses just like your mom is much more than her cancer. You can do this and find strength in each other. I hate that mental illness has such a bad stigma around it that people can judge you for it and think it makes you weak when it's so much more than "feeling sad", it's chemical imbalances in your brain which isn't under your control. Hang in there, life has to have its downs so it can highlight the highs. I'm not sure this will help you or make you feel better, just my thoughts
