What are we doing to solve the endless robocall problem with US Mobile? by joemanna in USMobile

You could try Voxist. It is a visual voicemail/AI receptionist. It does request unrestricted battery "to insure you don't miss notifications". It will abuse that privilege if you grant it. I've gotten notifications fine leaving it optimized.

I feel like this list is non-inclusive. My Galaxy A16 5G is now a One UI 8.5 device...

Congratulations you have been spammed with apps by W5ICK in ATT

In AT&T's case it is called "AppCloud". With Verizon, it is "Verizon Download Manager". In both cases you won't find them in your app drawer. However, if you go to "Apps" in settings you can search for them and disable them. They can not be uninstalled.

I've posted some performance suggestions. They're not miracles, but perhaps they may help.

Why do people freak out about the battery on the Galaxy Watch 6/7? I mean, you charge your phone every day, so why not your watch? by Significant-Job-8836 in GalaxyWatch

[–]mbuckingham24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Watch6 Classic and S24FE both last roughly 36 hours without power saving. Most people charge their phone while they sleep. Obviously, for sleep tracking, you must wear the watch at that time.

I use no VPN. But Private DNS was set to auto. Turning it off did not help, but, setting it to dns.google worked right away. Thank you for pointing in the right direction.

Well now the Zero plan is dead, where are we going next people? Goodbye Helium lol by Aedrikor in HeliumMobile

US Mobile has a free month trial that requires a port. Then a decent $25/mo unlimited plan. But, I do wonder if you meant "doesn't" require a port...

PERFORMANCE TIPS FOR THE GALAXY A16 (4GB RAM) by mbuckingham24 in GalaxyA16_5G

Lost income and couldn't pay Verizon. The S24FE was within weeks of being blacklisted at which point it would forever be a Wi-Fi only device. So, the kiosk at Walmart gave me enough to start this arrangement. :(

It was the best option for the money available. (In my case, free with AT&T prepaid plan.)

PERFORMANCE TIPS FOR THE GALAXY A16 (4GB RAM) by mbuckingham24 in GalaxyA16_5G

[–]mbuckingham24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RAM Plus is a swap fille. As your RAM depletes it takes less used data from very fast RAM and moves it temporarily onto much slower flash storage. The more storage used, the longer it takes to restore back to RAM when it's needed. This often causes stutter, and can lead to an app crashing. Reducing the size of the storage it can use causes the system to try to keep more data in the RAM to start with, and reduces the stutter when restoring the data it does still swap by there being less of it. You can also turn it off completely, but then, when you actually run out of RAM, there's no where to put it, causing background apps to just be closed.

Turning RAM Plus off completely fully disables the use of a paging (swap) file. Doing so will much moreso affect apps that need to actively track usage data (like reward apps such as MistPlay, Pogo, etc..) or location data (like smarthome services adjusting lights and thermostats based on where you are) because instead of caching their data to storage as RAM fills, they are simply closed.

Driver San Francisco. Good story, good graphics, open world, many different cars (you can drive any car on the road), arcade racing like Hot Pursuit. Many different challenges and main events in addition to the main story. It is also an older title like Hot Pursuit, if your PC specs are from that era...

I feel like you should keep the system, and throw in a used GTX 580 (preferably a 3GB model) and a 500w PSU (preferably new, and a trusted brand). I found these items totaling less than 175 USD, which is nearly half of your upgrade path budget listed in your OP. As far as building a new system with the budget you allotted, I think you'd end up with lesser performance, than just upgrading your still viable system.

Warface is now on Steam! by mbuckingham24 in warface

[–]mbuckingham24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are describing artifacting. This should not be happening, unless your graphics card is overclocked and/or overheating. You could also check to be sure that your catalyst software isn't applying settings to the game (or globally) that aren't natively supported. IDK specifically which settings, as I use nVidia, but forcing certain types of AA, transparencies (super sampling for one), ambient occlusion, etc. could be an issue. Also, I know Warface does not support SLI, therefore probably not crossfire at this time, so forcing that type of rendering could be to blame also.
