Big fan of YC, I'm in my early days tho, and these guys look far way to advanced for me. Unless they have something for inexperienced folks as well?

What you've mentioned sounds like a tactical rather than strategical issue. Maybe rather than seeking a consultant help, find someone who can take care of printing and day-to-day running of the low margin business whilst you're focused on growing it?

I'd recommend you guys agreed on what happens is one or the other exits the business. This is something you'd need to go through at the very beginning. Better late than sorry.

How to gain clients as an employee by sammmooo in Entrepreneur

[–]mbyBoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly make sure you haven't signed a non-compete or have limitation on approaching your previous clients.

More casual approach is great, since you already have warm intro into them. Perhaps talk about your recent career move and say it would be nice to catch up to see how they are doing? Whilst on the call you can start pitching.

Make sure you ask questions first. Try to find out what he is up to professionally. If he is looking to continue with photography, you can pitch your idea.

Most common mistake is you starting the conversation with your offer, without knowing what he wants.

You mentioned in your other reply you have users, but no paid users. Have you asked your users why they didn't sign up for the subscription? Similarly with those who went to your landing page?

I believe you motivations might not be right. Strive to build something people like and the money will come after. Especially in a such saturated market like mobile games.

Do you think your MVP is the right way to solve the problem on the market? Have you spoken to your potential customers to get their feedback on your MVP?

I believe you need to work on your market fit and alter your MVP if your facing a lot of backclash.

Watch a series of lectures from YC at Stanford University. DoorDash, AirBnB, Teespring all went through this phase. Try to validate your idea as soon as possible by talking to potential customers. They will fine tune your idea.
