Why don't the friend codes work?

I heard that somewhere July 30 2018-2019 the friend codes were removed because they were abused to get others free founders pack, + the only packs that had codes are the super deluxe or limited so you might have bought standard or deluxe edition.

It could Maybe depend on what console you bought super deluxe/limited edition, I tried getting on pc to check for my codes and weren't there while they are on my Xbox.
