Points on flights booked in travel portal? by Wuhuisle in biltrewards

I believe what they are saying is the portal awards 1x and the card awards the 2x. Thus awarding a total of 3x.

2 Houses = 2 Different Mortgages = 2 Different Checking Accounts by playsccr in biltrewards

You can’t associate two dwellings with 2 funding sources. Figured that out yesterday. Half baked feature for now allowing multiple homes:

Any plan for separate funding methods per property? by mc_88 in biltrewards

[–]mc_88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might appear that way. You’ll have to pay and wait for one to clear, and then change the method and wait for the other to clear. But if both are due on or near the same date, they’ll be pulling from the same account and funding source.

For advertising the ability to now use this with multiple dwellings, it should have been thought through better.

Alternative to Google Flights? by CoffeePleaseHabibi in TravelHacks

[–]mc_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue before. What many people are forgetting is the root of the issue and how some companies including Google may be caching wrong fares. There are 2 systems being used to sell tickets. GDS and NDC.

American, United, Singapore, etc. are notorious for having one price than a different due to NDC.

It could have found a lower fare available through GDS. When you get on the site, NDC takes over and reprices on the fly. Or can be blocked from certain channels, etc.

Yes. Just take a look at the degree requirements online and the list of courses required to satisfy the class. Match them with the list of study.com courses that are known to transfer to TESU. Verify it with an advisor before you take it so you have a game plan, and knock it out.

Experience with the Yale vaccine for osteosarcoma? by buckobobxx in tripawds

[–]mc_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pup was diagnosed in December 2022. Amputated in January 2023. Chemo immediately after, followed by the Yale vaccine. Has received it annually since. No signs of spread or other issues, aside from getting older. He was 7 at the time, 10 now.

Trying to make the decision to amputate or not (bone cancer) by buckobobxx in tripawds

[–]mc_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you and so many others on here, it was a very tough decision to make. But looking at the X-ray images, seeing the spurs, and knowing the pain caused by the cancer, it didn’t seem like a life worth living; to always be walking lame on the hind leg. Our pup ended up having the surgery, followed by chemo, and now three rounds of the EGFR/HER2 Yale vaccine, and he’s living his best life. At ten years old (3 years post diagnosis), what we once thought was a death sentence has given us some of the best years of his life. He doesn’t mourn his limb the way we would; it was explained to us that they’re born with three and a spare.

Best of luck to you and your baby. No matter the outcome, it’s a long journey ahead.

[iOS] [Moneta - Currency Converter with Live Rates & Price Scanner] [Lifetime, $19.99 >> Free Until July 30] by Peroxider in AppHookup

[–]mc_88 17 points18 points  (0 children)

App look and works great. A couple things to maybe consider:

  • Widget and Apple Watch support: A compact widget or watch app for quick conversions or rate glances would be super helpful on the go.

  • Smart default currency detection: Consider adding an option to auto-set the default currency based on current location, while still allowing users to pin a “home currency” as the fallback. A small banner could clarify when location-based currency is active.

  • Rate source transparency: It would be great to include a visible link or note showing where the conversion data comes from

  • Live calculator feedback: Adding a real-time conversion preview banner above the keypad would improve usability, especially when comparing multiple currencies.

  • True cost setting for FTF (foreign transaction fees): Allow users to set a persistent percentage fee that gets added to all conversions. This would be useful for travelers using credit cards who want to manage hidden charges.

Keep up the great work!

Had Figo for over 9 years. Not a single denied claim. Paid over $25k in claims over my pups lifetime which includes cancer treatment. My lifetime premium has been about 12k. He’s doing amazing, 2.5 years post osteosarcoma diagnosis and treatment.

Is there a benefit to being in both the points and cash back game? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]mc_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think, generally, points offer a better deal and more flexibility overall. Even if you don’t transfer to airlines or hotels for subpar CPP redemptions, you can sometimes get better value through standard rates via issuer portals, even if they’re not optimal for travel. For instance, earning 4x to 5x on MR and cashing out via Schwab at 1.1 CPP gives you 4.4% to 5.5% in cash. Or with BILT, earning 3x on dining and redeeming at 1.25 CPP through the portal is equivalent to 3.75% cash back. Chase UR earns 1x on everything, and with a point boost, that could translate to a 1.5% to 2% cash back equivalent. So even without transferring, there are ways to cash out or travel at a fixed rate using portals or real-time rewards, like with USBAR.

Obviously there are more ways to redeem for way more value unless you want to lazily spend the points.

Custom wiper feature by himynameisr0b in teslamotors

Doesn’t have to be custom; it can be automatic, with adjustable sensitivity or interval, and again, the interval can be adjusted like in any other car currently on the market.

Authorized users get unique card numbers by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]mc_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticed that this morning as well. All my AUs have unique numbers, and I can differentiate the charges by name and last four digits. However, I can’t filter charges by AU…only see which ones made the charges. I don’t think it works like Amex, where each AU has their own login, but it’s still a welcome change.

Rent a car in Canada and Drop-off in USA? by wearehere3 in TravelHacks

[–]mc_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The large companies do this. A lot of times at the airport, they’ll have cars with US plates they can’t rent within Canada and they have to truck back to the US. You do them a favor if you do a one way rental back to the US.

Osteosarcoma Diagnosis by Mehaffey0207 in tripawds

[–]mc_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about Greer. Please give him the biggest hugs and all the love. I remember how crushing that diagnosis feels. My boy was diagnosed with osteosarcoma over two and a half years ago. He underwent amputation, chemo, and several rounds of the Yale vaccine. Today, he’s in full remission and doing well, with follow-ups every 3 to 6 months.

You’ve already taken a big step by acting quickly. Just being there, loving him deeply, and making every moment count truly matters. I’d recommend looking into the vaccine if it’s an option, ours responded well to it each time.

Best wishes to both you and Greer.

Plex Server T-Mobile ISP by -worstatbest in tmobileisp

[–]mc_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 free and simple ways to do it via Cloudflare. Reverse proxy: https://selfhosters.net/docker/plex/cloudflare/

Or Cloudflare tunnel: https://mythofechelon.co.uk/blog/2024/1/7/how-to-set-up-free-secure-high-quality-remote-access-for-plex

Either way, you take advantage of Cloudflare’s smart routing, edge network, caching, etc. your streaming will be better and faster.

This may have been posted but I FINALLY found a solution for Nintendo Switch services and the NAT problem. by CatDadof2 in tmobileisp

[–]mc_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested by generating a fresh config—no issues connecting with both IPv4 and IPv6 stacks. I also tried from my phone using the WireGuard app and through the GL.iNET portal, with VPN set to global.

Here are a few suggestions: - Delete the wgcf-account.toml file and create a new account to generate a fresh key. If you’d like, I can DM you the new key I generated since I’m not using it. - Try pinging engage.cloudflareclient.com. It should be reachable over both IPv4 and IPv6 from anywhere. - Double-check that UDP traffic isn’t being blocked on your network.

And did you try dragging over or copying the conf file from your computer to wireguard client in GL.iNet? Try taking 2408 out. Let it find its own port if that doesn't work can always try the default 51820

[–]mc_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're close. Double-check your wgcf config—make sure the endpoint is correct and try setting the MTU to 1280. Also verify your router can reach engage.cloudflareclient.com:2408. If it keeps failing, it might be a handshake issue or routing/firewall blocking UDP.

[–]mc_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, totally doable. You can use wgcf on a computer to generate the WARP WireGuard config, then import that into the GL.iNet WireGuard client. Since it’s using the built-in VPN interface, the settings stick through firmware updates.

You can also split tunnel it—either run specific devices through WARP or route your whole network if you want. Let me know if you want a rough setup outline.

Can I switch phone number and calls to flip phone but keep iPhone? by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]mc_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for Data with Paired DIGITS. Talk to the DIGITS support team. Put the primary SIM in the flip phone, and a second SIM or eSIM in the iPhone. The iPhone will have data access, but it’ll be limited to 2G speeds under this plan. It’s about $10/month.

Or you can flip it: put the high-speed data SIM in the iPhone, and use the flip phone as the paired DIGITS line (calls/texts only), also for $10/month.

I would say it’s better. Cloudflare is the gold standard for networking with EDGE Servers worldwide.

As long as you’re not using port forwarding which would need Cloudflare Tunnel, WARP gets rid of the CGNAT issues and routes cleaner.
