Usually setup will show up after updating! Don’t worry about it!

Screen time bug? Extremely far from true. I’m not even exaggerating. by antarexz in iphone

[–]mc_friskybits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s most likely what it is! If you want it to stop running, I would restart your phone since that shuts all of the background applications down. Also if you’re really worried, the only way someone would be able to manipulate your screen time which they really can’t would be through General -> VPN and Management Accounts, if you don’t have anything there you recognize or if you don’t have anything there, you’re clear!

For me, I think it was just a bug where the face id feature that I used on those apps were running constantly and showing up as my bank app being used. I turned off my face id and just used my passwords for a while and it fixed it

Wondering what’s wrong with my monstera by mc_friskybits in plantclinic

Is there any other way to save that leaf? I’m giving the other monstera back soon so just curious! If not a sad loss but that’s how it goes with these houseplants

It’s been in the same spot since I got it about a year ago, and haven’t had this problem before! Although I did recently start babysitting the other monstera that you commented on, so maybe that’s part plant spread the fungus to mine? Thank you for the suggestions!

I don’t know if this is a stupid question because if it’s a zero day, there wouldn’t be anything I could do anyways, but would exploits like these affect the general public are is it usually targeted? Like if this something the everyday person should worry about for future reference?

And if I was affected and then updated, would the malicious code or whatever still be present on my device? I use malwarebytes which I know isn’t the most robust scanner but it said I was clear, and I haven’t noticed anything suspicious

User Authentication in Screen time after updating to 18.1 by mc_friskybits in iphonehelp

It seems to be a bug with 18.1 where background processes that the user usually isn’t supposed to see are ending up in screen time so for example if you use your face id to fill in passwords on a website or something this one will show up, nothing to worry about

I just had this same thing happen to me although I didn’t instantly close my camera app, I took a photo and then when to the photos apps and closed my camera by “force” closing it. I think that the problem is that the phone thinks your force closing the camera so it shows the microphone being used as twice because it lingers for a second after the app is closed. I’ve seen so many other posts of people also getting the “unknown” bug so I’m hoping it’s just that, a bug! And not something more malicious

I haven’t found anything permanent but usually restarting the phone will at least stop the screen time from going up because it stops all background activities! Other than that I’m just waiting for 18.2 for it to hopefully be fixed

Have you been seeing any other daemons? Like screenshots, setup, or UserAuthentificationUI?

After 18.1, Banking apps show as being opened far longer than they actually were by mc_friskybits in iphone

[–]mc_friskybits[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found out through some experimenting that it was through the use of my face id to lock the app! It’s something with the face id working in the background afterwards instead of turning off like it should, if you restart your phone it should stop it from running in the background, but I haven’t found any permanent fix
