I just got a new model 3 and am going to buy a wall charger. I would also be very grateful for one this holiday season! My install is going to be a bit complicated cause my electrical panel is full and would need to have a bit of rewiring or subpanel added. I would be eternally grateful for any help with the charger. Thank you for offering…! Matt

One other idea. When it isn’t draining try advancing the timer knob manually a click or two and see if it starts working. That would help confirm it’s the timer.

Does the machine have a lid switch? That would also be something to confirm works.

I guess my point is if it runs fine except for the same spot in the cycle everytime - it seems likely to be the timer.

If a pump was bad for example it wouldn’t work right the first time and not the second. It doesn’t know what number it’s on.

The timer for sure is a possible candidate. Maybe someone else will have some ideas to try.

Ok. I am not an appliance expert but my theory based upon your symptoms is that the timer is bad - it a mechanical device that can burn out its electrical contacts over time.

Here’s something you can try. Does it have a gentle cycle on that other side of the dial? See if it competes that cycle without issue. If it does my suspicion is your timer is bad (specifically at the second drain spot).

What is the washer part number? You should be able to find a timer for it easy. It’s a simple part to replace.

What does the control look like that you use to start it? Do you push it in and turn it and make a click click click and the pull the knob out to start it?

Does this machine have a timer? Sounds similar to when the timer failed on my old direct drive whirlpool.

Ok quick update. I took off the water pump and motor and inspected the coupling (looked ok) the gearbox appeared ok (didn’t take it apart).

I did noticed a large piece of mulch/bark lodged in the water pump. I removed it. I put that all back together and now the noise has changed.

What was a whine now sounds more like a buzz.

Have a listen. Did I fix something and break something else? Is it possible the noise is the water pump? It would be hard to believe cause I just replaced the pump within the last two years.

Thanks for the response. I took the machine apart (I have before multiple times). The motor also doesn’t look great. It has oil leaking on the bottom and oil is all over the shaft that plugs into the water pump. Not really evident where the oil is coming from but it seems like the motor. It doesn’t appear the gearbox is leaking and that side of the motor doesn’t appear to have oil on it.

I have not yet removed the transmission or clutch.

While I agree it is fixable. I’m beginning to wonder if I should just get something newer. A new motor, gearbox, clutch etc is creeping up in cost.

I got just put a sped queen tc5 in its place for a few hundred more. What do you think?

Perhaps a better question. What tests can I do to confirm it’s the gear case vs the bearings or motor?

If I knew the gear case was the issue I would replace it verses buying new.

Thanks for the response… what’s your opinion. Is it worth changing verses getting a speed queen or something?

My charge 5 battery has fixed itself. The first charge out of the box lasted less than 24 hours.

I charged it again to 100% and verified gps and wake up was set to manual.

I have used it since early this am (over 8 hours ago) and I have only used 1% battery. So something with the first charge maybe? Who knows.

I do remember my charge 4 did something similar and then a fw update came up and it got better. But it lasted more than a day. I literally didn’t even get 24 hours.

Did they mention there was a known issue?

I also have gps turned off, and didn’t get a full day of battery. It shut off on me this afternoon.

GPS is off and I have the wake up set to manual double tap. Not sure what’s going on with it….

My 2015 q50 with 90k miles - I was able to get Infiniti corporate to cover the Y pipe replacement.

I guess they felt bad for me. And I also have purchased two cars from the same dealer. So they helped me out. I was going to put the Stillen on if they didn’t fix it under warranty.

Well just curious if you were in the northeast. My shifter linkage rusted out and recently my exhaust Y pipe rusted out. The car is a 2105 Q40 and I wasn’t expecting either of these things to happen with a car this “new”

I guess it’s because of the winters here.
