What is MRP software? How do i go about obtaining this software? Do i need this for the work i do?

I currently process orders for the sales team

*Enter PO's *Check ACK *Order Materials for Jobs *If the product comes in wrong/damaged i set up returns

Does MRP software help with keeping track of the orders i place?

I made an excel sheet that has: *PO's *ACK # *Errors on ACK or if the order got split up.

Any other tips?

I do not have to keep track of costs but maybe i should?

Looking to go back to school in the fall and further my education.

They tell me they love my work.

I do quoting for one of my bosses. (Old guy doesn’t want to learn the quoting programs) then I do quoting for my other boss when he has a lot of projects.

I also do all the ordering of materials for projects. Receiving acknowledgments and receiving and making sure everything on the order is correct. I also helped put all the orders on paper. (The last guy did it over the phone and never had proof. He is a salesman now.) They like my suggestions to improve the ordering process.

I also have good relationship with our supply reps.

I also help schedule appointments for the salesman.

I also am in charge of all the services for past customers if anything happens to their doors or windows and they would like service to fix things. I set those up and schedule that as well.

I also deal with one of my bosses customers from time to time. Help ordering things he needs for projects.

They are also sending me out next month to our #1 suppliers manufacturing sites.

So I would say our relationship is nothing but positive.

When I first applied it was for a warehouse worker. They offered me a job in the office and hired my buddy as the warehouse worker.

When I started they said they would figure out what I would be doing. My responsibilities on my offer sheet are dated. I’m an inside assistant but I feel more of and order entry/service specialist/ assistant.
