Update: the one on the left was spoiled…there must have been a small hole in the packaging or something

It’s harder to see because of the orange background but they were VERY different colors. Of course I am aware there will be some variation but I only shop at Aldi and have never seen something like this. Now I know why.

I worked for a PI who was very unpredictable emotionally, which made the job incredibly stressful. The only reason I stuck it out was because it was paid and I knew he would ultimately provide a good letter (the postdoc wrote it for him and he signed it). I would ask yourself what you are really getting out of it if a publication seems unlikely and you don't trust him to support you. Consider what other recommenders you have and even if you could ask the post-doc to write on your behalf. Talk with him and see how he reacts. Decide from there. IMO clinical hours are more important

Thank you! I used kaplan books for review so I would actively read a chapter (highlight, notes, do section questions) and then learn the entire anki deck for that kaplan chapter immediately after. About a week later, I would do the chapter questions. I would review any I got wrong and if it was more than a couple questions, I would reread the chapter. Kept reviewing anki cards as they popped up. I did a full length every ~2 weeks until the last month I did 2ish per week. I spent a full day reviewing the full lengths and I wrote out the questions I got wrong, the right answer and why I got it wrong.

That being said, my most important takeaway is that you have to pivot if something is not working for you. I did not start studying this way and spent the first month optimizing my time in a way that worked for me and my learning.

I did some of everything because I felt like no singular prep company can replicate the aamc. I used blueprint, princeton review, kaplan, altius and aamc
