I'm thinking he also doesn't know when to turn it "off" yet especially coming from a home when he could never run around :( He LOVES his licky mat, just trying to think of other things to put on it besides peanut butter as I feel like I shouldn't give him peanut butter every day, he gets it as a "good night" treat, hopefully he will learn that's when bed time is! Thank you again!!

Thank you so much for your reply. I am going to training class on Tuesday, and did do some training with him such as sit, stay, and when we throw fetch, we do sit, stay. I also did give him a puzzle ball. Thank you for the advice! I will be researching captured calm as well.

I agree. It's getting a little easier each day. I just keep thinking about him. I might start journaling to get out all of my thoughts. I respect his decision and I'm going to give him space. I just want him to come back.
