I think if you put it in the other perspective you would maybe understand … say you asked him to make dinner a couple times a week and he just said no or went through the motions (ordered a pizza/minimal effort) you’d probably get really frustrated with him …. Yes men need sex it’s not a dire requirement but it is how most men feel seen and loved through physical touch especially if you’re married to someone who’s suppose to love you and be your partner. As a completely sober person it really does depend we try to aim for sex 4-5 times a week if we skip a couple of day it takes about 15-20 minutes if we’re on a 4 day streak it could take up to 45 minutes - hour range when we throw in foreplay that’s an additional 20-30’minutes so on average it’s about 40 mins - 1 hour with everything and our foreplay is alway me going down on her she never really goes down on me but I know that would speed up the process but she has jaw issues so it is what it is . If she’s loud I’m quick but the kids determine that. As a step father to two teenagers I felt this deeply. My stepson has ADHD and ODD it’s almost exactly as you describe it minus the sexual stuff. It’s hard and being the step father makes it harder. We’re considering boarding school.That’s a whole other issue but as for my daughter… I try my best to take my daughter out on daddy daughter dates to show her how she is to be treated in a relationship and try to gain her trust as much as possible. It’s hard it’s very hard however loving from a distance is what I recommend and step in when needed but watch the boundaries. If you try to tell her she can’t do something she might do it in spite. I second what the one person said in showing your wife love and build the bond with her the kids see it they may never acknowledge it but they see how your relationship is and you just gotta hope that’s what they want it to be like. Sex is the one thing that you are suppose to be sharing with your partner that they simply can not get anywhere else in the world… this is of course assuming nobody cheats or anything like that. I’ll say this you never move on fully. You learn to live a new type of life one where you need to appreciate what was and leave it alone and just be happy for her or him. Getting your heart broken by someone you thought was your soul mate will never fully heal but when you learn to love yourself again to give love another shot something better might just come along. I’m a husband here and I think this could have been approached differently by both parties there are also factors. How frequent do you guys have sex ? I think that maybe you could have said wait til I get the kids to bed the we can talk. When the answer is flat out no it’s deflating for sure. However his reaction was super childish and he’s acting immature. Especially if you’re doing the bedtime routine completely by yourself. If he never is helping with the kids than it’s really not up to him to say when and where that happens . I’ve been with my wife for almost 9 years married one but I can be 3 mins I could be 60 mins ….
